If I were government, I'd pay them the allowance but I'd open enough liquor stores that sell cheap alcoholic drinks and marijuana all around their towns to make sure they remain useless for generations. |

Re: Ex-niger Delta Militants Invade Abuja To Protest Unpaid Allowances by alex101(m): 3:36am On Feb 24, 2011 |
Obiagu1: The natives of Fort Mcmurray, as in most advanced countries have full resource control of their resources. They only have to pay taxes to central govt. (in this case Canadian govt.). Bro, as far as I'm concern Nigerian system allows for things like these. Imagine where every state of the federation depends on allocation. The up-to-no good politicians, even the traditional rulers all depend on one source of income-OIL. IN a nutshell, what is "good for the goose is good for the gander". Make dem pay dem jare before they return to the creeks! |

Re: Ex-niger Delta Militants Invade Abuja To Protest Unpaid Allowances by Obiagu1(m): 3:38am On Feb 24, 2011 |
alex101: They don't. Every province in Canada depends on allocation just like Nigeria especially Quebec. |

Re: Ex-niger Delta Militants Invade Abuja To Protest Unpaid Allowances by Beaf: 3:44am On Feb 24, 2011 |
alex101: Thanks for that! I can't fathom why Nigerians like fooling themselves and living in mythical Worlds, whereas reality stares us all in the face in its stark, grusesome nackedness. Nigeria is a state that operates by patronage and begging. It is even enshrined in our constitution, yet instead of younger generation to remove the scales from their eyes, they engage in primitive games driven by thinly veiled ethnic bigotry. We are all beggars, we come from beggar LG's, belong to beggar states and are served by beggar politicians. It is a sick system and the ex-millitants aren't any different from the rest of us. |

Those dudes are lazy f.ools! Call a spade a spade. Maybe everyone that is a native of where natural resources are mined including those states that host Kanji dam should start trooping to Abuja to collect allawee. |

Obiagu1:wait a minute, are you saying in Canada there is no resource control for alberta that has the oil deposits in Canada? I have to read up on this then. If there is no resource control anywhere in the world, then Beaf, e be like say e go hard for Ijaw O1 |

Re: Ex-niger Delta Militants Invade Abuja To Protest Unpaid Allowances by Obiagu1(m): 3:51am On Feb 24, 2011 |
alex101: No province has absolute resource control. Money is redistributed to other provinces like in Nigeria. Quebec depends solely on the Federal government. The difference is that those resources are in the hands of those provinces where they are mined so they control how and when they are mined. Moreover, the don't give out allawee to unemployed youths in only Alberta but in Canada as a whole and the pay is the same. |

alex101: If they are fighting for accountability from government officials using every means including assasinations and kidnapping, I'll support them. What they need is for the government to spend 100% of the capital expenditure on the ground and not embezzle it. This will help them more than mere allawee. |

Beaf: I wonder why people should refer to these brave boys as "lazy boys" The only lazy folks I see in Nigeria are those who don't offer nigeria nothing, but at the end of the month would carry out the usual "monthly pilgrimage" to Abuja in the name of monthly allocation. |
