Habit is a routine behavior that we subsequently start performing subconsciously. It is a learned behavior that becomes normal. What do you do on a daily? Eating, brushing, sleeping, loving, nurturing? These habits can either be healthy or unhealthy. They can affect the way our lives turn out.

Aside from genetics, our habits really affect how well we age. I am sure we all know a few people that actually look like they are aging backwards. Research shows that our lifestyle has a huge influence on how we look. Let’s take a look at a few habits that can make us age faster.

STRESSING 
Research shows that prolonged period of stress can alter your DNA. Stress is associated to shorter telomeres. Telomeres are a component of chromosomes that are linked to cellular aging and put us at risk of other diseases. They are the protective casing at the end of a strand of DNA. Every cell division leads to loss in telomeres.

These telomeres can be replenished by telomerase—an enzyme—but prolonged stress can decrease the supply of this enzyme. Constant diminishing of these telomeres causes the cell to die. At this point, the aging process is in motion, accompanied by other health issues. Can you put your stress level in check now?
