If they fail, don't reelect them, don't give them another chance hoping they will change. They will learn with time. Even crooks behave themselves when they know there is no forgiveness for failure

Well even the electorate are in it for themselves.
Imagine someone willing to collect 3k to vote for a party even though that same person has about 100k in his or her account. The greed and selfishness has robbed some of their common sense. They are not rich by any means but they are not hungry or broke to the extent that they have to be bribed to vote.
I once tried talking people out of collecting money before voting and they were all looking at me as if I was crazy. These people were not homeless without food, they were average Nigerian with ok living but they have an entitled mentality of "I need to get what I can now " completely forgetting the reason for the election in the first place.

That is the problem of an average Nigerian. We tend to abuse, saturate and make mockery every opportunity we get.

Open say, a recharge card vending business in a location in a small street, before you say, jack 100 of Nigerians would abandon every other Business they were into, and open the same business as your in that same location, before long, everywhere would saturated and that particular kind of business killed off.

I can bet, perhaps one person cheated through this means and succeeded in seeking asylum, he started calling other people back home to come and explore the same illegal route, and now the whole mess.

Yeye people! Canada Govt should jail them before repatriation.
Post is spot on. But I doubt these folks would mind being jailed at all as long as it's in CANADA. grin

And there are different levels of experience needed.

You don't even need to be an expert of many years.

You’re right. It’s not mostly out of desperation, it’s mostly out of greed, out of spite for the system, out of thirst for anything free that we didn’t work for, out of hopelessness that the system will still elect them whether we do or not, out of distrust that all of them are in it for themselves so the highest bidder wins, out of our own selfishness and greed to gain from the system by electing our cronies since all of them are in it for the same selfish reasons.

We’re at a terrible state as a nation. It didn’t start today. It started pre independence. It started with the founders. The foundation was faulty. There was nepotism, tribalism, religious bigotry and corruption right from the founders. They were not selfless enough to lay down the principles that will outlive them. It’s a disaster! Even those agitating for their own nations will most likely make the same mistakes, they focus on the now and their own glories and not the generations yet unborn.

But nothing is impossible! Patriots can still change the course of history for the nation, if it’s not too late already. It will never happen in their own generation, so if they make progress, it will not be for themselves. Great nations were the products of work from previous generations. If you start sensitizing, lecturing and educating people today, they may not become CEOs today, but they will recognize the value of education and entrepreneurship and they will make their children go to school and somewhere in their generations, a CEO will emerge. That’s the way life is

That Danladi story was funny and full of crap. How can a Fulani herdsman trace you from Delta to Lagos and destroy your generator?

They tell lies believing everyone is a fool like them too.

Danladi is a covert Spy so he knew how to trace them... or his brother in DSS helped him.

I found it hilarious

He was preaching it to what audience though?

By the way, It was said that Kanu got wind of his impending arrest (like Adeyinka Grandson) and took flight.

Go and Arrest Maiyegun General; nah in United Kingdom;I listen to him every day; This is a company not a Kwantiri.
The Royal Niger Company was a British chartered company, active from 1886 through 1899 in the territory bordering the Niger and Benue Rivers in contemporary Nigeria, that parlayed its administrative powers with a grazing routes to the Fulanis for exploitation.

There was Bight of Biafra before Liegeria;
No thy self; and history is not a crime.

Nope

I beg where did your leaders come from? Are they from another country or planet?
Your leaders are a true representation of the people in the country. Your leadership is a microcosm of what you are.
Remove all the present leaders today and replace them with youths on NL, activists, and other ordinary Nigerians and I can guarantee you that it will be the same or even worse.
The fact of the matter is that the average Nigerian is greedy, selfish and have very little concern about their larger community, they care mostly about themselves.
Until you have a large part of your society who actually cares more about othere/community than themselves, you will continue to have the kind of leadership that you have now.
It's not rocket science, it's simple logic.

Nail on the head. Kudos

You stated the problem correctly (blue). But your solution (red) is wrong because it's impossible. A large part of society can't suddenly change. Leadership is top-down, not bottom-up. One person (leader) can make a difference by starting the process of change.

It is so sad that every Nigerian thinks that if he or she leaves the shores of this country, then automatically his life has become better. True is some instance if you have a plan. But false in many instances. It is so sad how desperate we have become to run away from Nigeria. How are Indians, Lebanese doing so well in Nigeria. Having businesses. Is it not the same Nigeria we complain about they are living in too? Truth is no country is perfect. Even the so called Canada is not perfect. I know friends in the UK who are not doing well at all and wish to relocate back to Nigeria. Life is not about running helther skelther for pastures new. It's about making he best use of the opportunities you have. Once you have money, and live comfortably, you will not feel like leaving Nigeria. Also we also spoilt our own country with our own hands. Now everyone is chickening out. We can make Nigeria work if we put aside religious, tribal sentiments. If we put aside corruption and greed, Nigeria will work. But Nigerians are the reasons why Nigeria will never work because everyone is pursuing one personal agenda or the other. It's so sad..

many of them are rich and well-doing and could have gone through legit means, but they chose easy way which has landed many in tears
How could they have gone through the legit way with their money? The only way is to buy a house in Canada or marry a Canadian citizen but they are already married with kids and if they are really rich why couldn't they afford to buy a house in Canada? Maybe they are not as rich as you think?
