*KA Stroud Engr Math Episode 18 - Graphs

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umnAgswp-j8

I started Program F4 in this episode with topics on Graphs from page 129, frame 1. I covered cartesian axes, products, and relations. Ultimately, according to the Program learning objectives, we should be able to construct a collection of ordered pairs of numbers against Cartesian axes and generate graphs at the end of the Program. So, in the next two episodes, I hope to cover asymptotes, discontinuities, graphs of inequalities, and how to use spreadsheets to draw Cartesian graphs of equations.

In this episode, I concluded my explanation on Program F6 of the book (polynomial equations). Starting from the 18th frame of the Program, I discussed how to find and solve cubic and quartic equations with at least a single linear factor. While explaining these, I revised (derived) the factor and reminder's theorem.

Last night, I continued my explanation from frame 26 of book (program F7: page 207). I explained how to expand binomials using coefficients of the Pascal triangle. This process however could only be used to expand power with a positive integer (>=1). Via the relationship between Pascal triangle and Combination coefficients as discussed in the previous episode, I also showed how to expand binomials whose power is less than 1 (a negative integer or fraction).

Episode 33

In this week's episode of our mathematics class (episode 33), we dove deeper into the world of algebra and series. Starting on page 215 of the book "KA Stroud Engineering Mathematics with Dexter Booth", I walked through the process of deriving a general formula for the sum of the first n natural numbers using sigma notation. I also covered the rules for manipulating sums, making it easier for you to tackle similar problems on your own.

In the second half of the class, I introduced the concept of exponential functions, including the exponential constant e and how it relates to the exponential function. By the end of the episode, we had completed program F7 of our textbook, bringing us one step closer to completing the book. Don't miss out on next week's episode as we continue our journey through the beautiful world of mathematics.

Don't miss this week's episode 34 of our weekly mathematics class in Yorùbá, where we will be starting a new program F8 in the book "KA Stroud Engineering Mathematics with Dexter Booth" with a new chapter on "partial fraction." Tonight, we will discover how to find the "parts" that make up a single fraction, also known as "partial fractions." Partial fraction is an important topic in mathematics, with applications in solving more complicated fractions, particularly in integral calculus. Join me tonight to discover the beauty of partial fractions and its applications in mathematics.

Looking forward to seeing you tonight!

Episode 34 - Partial fractions

In tonight's episode 34 of our class, we started a new program with a chapter on partial fractions (page 223 of the book "KA Stroud Engineering Mathematics with Dexter Booth"wink. I began by explaining what "parts" of a partial fraction mean. Throughout the video up to frame 20, I explained how partial fractions of a given rational expression can be obtained, specifically when the denominator has linear and quadratic terms. Next week, we will learn how to resolve expressions with irreducible quadratic terms at the denominator, repeated factors, and any polynomial in the denominator using partial fractions. Don't miss out on next week's episode as we continue to explore this topic in more depth.

KA Stroud Engr Math 36 - Trigonometry

In this episode, I delved into the fascinating world of Trigonometry. I provided a comprehensive overview of what Trigonometry is all about, which involves determining the angles and distances of a triangle. I covered the basics of angles and rotations, including the relationship between degrees and radians and the conversion from degrees to minutes and seconds and from degrees to radians and vice-versa. From frame 1, I led a journey to understand Trigonometry in-depth and provided practical examples to help grasp the concepts.

KA Stroud Engr Math 37 - Trigonometric ratios

In this week's episode (Episode 37), I delved into Trigonometric ratios as part of Program F9 in the textbook. I began by giving an overview of what Trigonometry is, which is the study of finding angles and distances. I then explained the right-angled triangle and Pythagoras theorem, which are fundamental concepts in Trigonometry. Using these, I derived the trigonometric ratios of the special angles 30°, 60°, and 45°, and demonstrated their real-life applications, such as finding the angle of elevation or depression. Join me next week for more exciting lessons!
