see bro, don't just go there alone. Go there with madness. As I did at uba, I went there around closing time, and told them they will need to lock me inside bank if my money no reverse. They thought I was joking, when they saw that am not playing, they gave me teller to fill, that they will borrow me, that immediately they reverse it, they will deduct it. Nothing concern me, sha give me my money. U won't believe that after I collected the money, not hope to and hour, they reverse my money, then deducted it back. So if I don't drop craze, na so my money go go.

They will revert it. It might take two weeks or more. Just don't stop going to their branch to complain.

After 24hrs I went to their branch to lay a compliant and they acknowledged the dispense error and started that it will be reversed after 24hrs which did not happen.
I called their customer care line 2 days later and one of their agent told me that it will be reversed after 24hrs and that she has sent It for manual reversal.
Despite this I didn't get the reversal.

I again went to the bank last week Friday, 23rd April and the customer service apologized that it must be reversed that day which did not still happen.
I chatted them up on Twitter, and they claim that it has been reversed, and after proving that nothing has been reversed they stopped responding to my messages on Twitter.
I sent them a mail and they didn't respond till yesterday, where they stated that the issue will be resolve within 48 hours.
Nothing has happened yet.
I tried calling their their customer service now and I noticed that I can no longer reach them with my two lines, probably they blocked my line.

P.s; I am fully aware that they have breached their obligation in respect to banker-customer relationship and that I would be entitled to damages if I sue them for this.
But the truth is, instituting a legal action now would be too expensive for me coupled with the litigation process.

Please what do you suggest I do apart from litigation?

Violence, that's the language they understand, to to the banking hall and request you see their MD, please don't act like a gentleman if you really need your money .

My boss made a transfer of 40k to someone, he got debited and the transaction wasn't a success. He went to the bank and make a complaint and series of excuses was given to him, after 3 weeks of going to the bank with nothing to tell about, he finally let go of the 40k and accepted his fate.

On a faithful day, after 3months, a message pop in to his phone screen and it was a reversal message of his 40k back in to his acct.....Till date, i don't know why it took the bank a whole 3 months to figure that issue out but what i was so surprised about was the fact on how the bank reversed his 40k back after 3 good months, about 90days.....

So anything bank matter no dey understand me walia.

Your money will be reversed. It happened on the 19th of this month? Then relax your money will return back to you.

Op, no need to go to the bank again. Just report the matter to CBN via cpd@cbn.gov.ng.
Ensure you put the tracking number and attach screenshots of the messages that your bank have sent you.

However, the period given to you by your bank to resolve the matter must have elapsed.

I assure you that you will get the money in less than three days. I did it once and got my money in less than 24 hours.

This is a very simple matter, its just that when customer's talk or complain, they don't say the whole truth how it went, people like to indict people somany atime, it's usually unintentional because it is carried by emotion and quest for solution.

That being said, the message is simple.
Debit without pay, complained, yet unresolved.

But there was a comment you made, the told you that it has been resolved.

Have you checked your balance via your account statement to know if it is resolved?

If it is resolved, try and post it on the front page also and apologize (if you can).

If not resolved, go to them and they will resolve it, it doesn't take up to 10 minutes unless your issue is not clear.

What it involve is to check the e-journal and confirm from the machine if it dispensed the cash or not.
If the machine reading is in dispute, cash count, balancing and reconciliation will be done. This is where it takes time/days.

Your money is not lost.

am going to advise you as a professional in this regard,
(1) are you a union bank customer,
(2) ist a union bank card
If not, your mother Bank is the place to laid your complian,Cox if it's a third party bank, bro they are reversing it to your bank transit account,in which you need proper follow up to get your money back,
Secondly,any time a machine is counting and either failed or went off,it assume it has deepens,so they need time to check the journal,trace the failed transaction,spot it out with it's Stan,do cash count, confirming it tally bf taking a decision,
My advice kindly do a peaceful follow up or u will be throw out

Go to that bank and cause a scene. If you can't do it alone, call two or 3 area boys, explain to them and promise to give them 5k out of the money... They will follow you

contact NDIC Nigerian deposit insurance scheme send them a mail u can copy CBN too ... The is CBN isn't doing their job properly they're supposed to be proper regulators but they don't reply emails so explain urself properly to NDIC

Somethings are not as you people see it at all. It is always easy for one to stay on his lane and decipher, analyse and conclude what happens on another lane.

The case you presented above can happen easily, but under normal circumstance, it shouldn't take that long. Sometimes it takes longer.

These transfers customers do, passes through multiple channels of debits and credits automatically before it gets to the ultimate beneficiary.

In between this source and beneficiary, source bank and destination bank, there are always companies in between through which these entries pass through.

If bank X moves money to bank Y, the money will pass through company Z and its settlements accounts before it gets to bank Y.
If any of these institution automatic process fails, the above can occur. At what point it fails determines if the reversal can be automatic/immediate, same day or manually reversed or manually credited.

Where the bankers have problem is, if the intermediary company aarevwith the funds and refuses to response, or reconcile the account, what you can do is just but tobsend mails and call if you have anyone's number. If it is within the source bank, it is very easy. But if it is with the beneficiary bank, they can manually return the money or manually credit it into the beneficiary's account.

Just that your bank is standing for you to see that this thing is done, it may not actually be thier fault but they need to protect their customers.

In all, I will advice, lets all seek clarity before we speak, especially speak ill against anyone, for God will bring to judgement every idle word.

If you want your money back go there and show them madness. Make sure you hit your two hands on the table of whoever that is attending to you. Tell them that you are not going anywhere until you receive an alert on your phone.

See, your analysis and defence is only good for Nigeria. I've used ATMs in so many countries and once I have issues, they sort it out within 48hours max. There was a time I reported fraudulent transaction on my HSBC. I was only giving a form to fill and sign to confirm I know nothing about the transaction. The very first thing they did the following day was to credit me back and send me a letter that they are carrying out investigation.

GTBank n FCMB ATM did me same in Nov last yr.
I was to withdraw N10K. Machine started counting n refuses to bring me my money. Brought out card after like 5 mins.
