Don't think you can successfully track it but I won't be so sure. If it's a Samsung, I can bet you can. I actually lost my Samsung S20 recently and I successfully tracked and located it on my other Samsung. It was easy and straight forward but all these Redmi, Tecno phones no get try.

don't track anything,you end up spending more than your phone and you won't still get it.just hustle and get another phone,next ime be more aware.

It is always annoying to loss a phone to all this crooks via commercial buses or one on one Agberos. Especially if your phone is like an office that you do everything with. Been going through the same ordeal with one inspector in the Nigerian police Zone 6 in Calabar after collecting money still not active for him to track it. Tecno pouver Neo. The best way to track phone is Having an esim with Mobile data always on. You can quickly track the phone when it gets missing via Samsung account or Google device manager and the thief has no sim to remove

hmmm, Esim can be deleted either if the new owner knows the password to your phone or get into the phone somehow.

This info tells you the location of the phone based on which cell phone tower (base station) the phone GSM network is currently connected to. Each cell phone tower everywhere in Nigeria has a unique ID code that's specific to it's location.

LAC: The Location Area Code, abbreviated as LAC is the unique number given to each location area within the network. The served area of a cellular radio access network is usually divided into location areas, consisting of one or several radio cells.

CELL ID: GSM Cell-ID (CID) is a unique number by which GSM towers or the sector of the GSM tower can be identified within a location area code (LAC) or a GSM network.

MNC: The Mobile Network Code, abbreviated as MNC, is a code uniquely identifying a mobile network operator (MNO). This can be either MTN, Glo, Airtel, etc.

MCC: Mobile Country Code

Write the numbers for each of them in full.

The full MNC code will tell you the mobile operator (MTN, Glo, etc.) the SIM inside the phone is using.

Once you get this, you can contact the relevant mobile operator. They can determine the phone's user and location using the other info and the phone's IMEI.

But you will have to go through the police before the mobile operator can take any action.

As a software engineer with m.sc and at least 10 years experience, I can tell you that the only technology available for tracking are not much. The two popular and widely used is:

1) GPS
2) SIM CARD

Nobody can track any gadget with so-called imei.

What usually happens is that, when a thief inserts a sim card on your phone, the information of the phone and IME number is automatically sent to the network providers. This information will usually include the location as well and they use this to track the phone.
There no military what so ever technology anywhere besides this.

Be careful so you don't get lost too. I saw some misleading post here. The cell id is something is something only network operator and law enforcement can help you with. And also associated with the simcard. The criminal most have removed the simcard unless the phone is just misplaced somewhere. That cell id will mention is the cell tower the phone was hooked to which may be far from the phone.

Contact the Police or the telecoms operator. They can see which other simcard is inserted on your imei. Ignore any other person claiming they can track your phone.
