Back in 2021, I made a post about how much Airport we are building in AlaIgbo including Asaba, PH, Imo, Ebonyi, Anambra and Enugu but only Abia did not have airport but it makes more economic sense for Abia to have a seaport than an Airport now, that dream is becoming a reality and nothing feels sweeter.

You don’t have to be a South Easterner to be happy about this news, are we not all one Nigeria, why so much bitterness in development in other part of Nigeria anyway, even if Oti don’t achieve this objective, the most important thing is that officially this move have started, it would only be a matter of time.

What I didn’t see coming is a man like Alex Otti, as a matter of fact, Abia is more well placed than any other southeast state for a seaports, 1. It shares boundaries with all the southeast states and have no boundary to the North which means goods from Abia would create opportunities in other southeast states especially Ebonyi and Enugu

It is not a must he build it, he just proposed it, he is a governor. It changes the dynamic, even after him another governor would come, it might take decades, centuries but now it is an official opinion that’s foresight enough.

I am an Ijaw and am really happy for this giant leap for the Igbos. This project will be very beneficial to us here in the south south too.

You are one of the understanding Ijaws out there, the Igbos and Ijaws ought to have a mutual understanding because one thing the Ijaws are yet to see today is that the kind of coastal proximity you guys have would make it impossible for the Nigerian government to build seaports over there because direct seaports are costly.

I had wanted a port in Opobo however since the territory is likely disputed let’s focus on Igbo mainland first. The goods from the Igbo hinterland made Bonny of old and when Jaja left and founded Opobo, the goods from the hinterland made Opobo, today I don’t know exactly what Igbos and Ijaws are contesting but calling us landlocked and shaming us because of Nigerian politics, crude oil and biafran war would have economic impact, Lagos would be decongested and even if we have to dredge a stream we would do that so far as Nigeria exist perhaps Nigeria fail, you know we would cross the rubicon
