Returning a wedding dress can be a complicated process, as many bridal salons have strict return policies. In most cases, wedding dresses are considered final sale items, meaning that they cannot be returned or exchanged. This is because wedding dresses are often made to order and customized to fit the bride perfectly. Once a dress has been ordered, it is difficult to resell, so bridal salons are hesitant to take returns.

However, there are a few exceptions to this rule. If you purchased your dress from a store that has a liberal return policy, you may be able to return it for a refund or exchange. Additionally, if there is something wrong with the dress, such as a defect in the fabric or construction, you may be able to return it for a repair or replacement.

Here are some tips for returning a wedding dress:

Contact the bridal salon as soon as possible. The sooner you contact the salon, the more likely they are to help you.
Be prepared to explain why you want to return the dress. The more information you can provide, the better the salon will be able to understand your situation.

Be polite and respectful. Even if you are frustrated, it is important to be polite to the salon staff. This will increase your chances of getting a positive outcome.

Be prepared to compromise. You may not be able to get a full refund, but you may be able to get an exchange or store credit.
Here are some additional things to keep in mind:

Save all of your receipts and paperwork. This will help you prove that you purchased the dress and that you are eligible for a return.
Take pictures of the dress in its original condition. This will help you prove that the dress was not damaged or altered.
Be patient. The return process may take some time, so be patient and don't give up.

I see no sense in buying a wedding gown when you can simply rent it.. something that you will wear once and throw aside... Except maybe you can see a future of divorce or separation... And even though it come to pass will you be in your previous body shape for your 2nd charade?
I understand the op having issues with renting because of the fitness... But if you shop around you have 70percent in getting your size moreover there professional tailors that are good in alteration.
