You should try and study the history of you people. Oba is not originally a yoruba word. That is why we have two kings called Oba. The Oba of Benin, The Oba of Lagos. The two of them bear Oba as a title, while the others be different title. Eg Oni of Ife, Alafin of Oyo, Alake of Egbaland, Aujala of Ijebuland. Olu of Warri, Deji of Akure etc. Oba is a Bini word that has metamorphose to mean King, which is now use Generally as king in modern day Yoruba.

Etsako west is larger now because of its urban nature, Akoko Edo is 5% of the population of Edo state, you can check. Even if he was going to cut his head for the Etsako people, they still would not vote for him. Oshiomhole is there and is a factor, so why waste the slot, you can’t compare chief of staff position to deputy governor, it is not the same thing, anybody can appoint anybody chief of staff, it will only happen two times in a lifetime for an Akoko Edo person to be governor or deputy governorship candidate in a election cycle not when Bini, Esan,Etsako, Owan are there. Obaseki knew Etsako people were not going to vote for Asue. So the most reasonable and pragmatic thing to do is boot out Philip who has become a liability and cement the chance he had with Akoko Edo people.

Akoko Edo are Yoruba. They are besides their other akoko counterpart in Ondo as a matter of fact, just like the Itsekiri are besides their counterpart in Ondo. The uhen, usen etc are typically Yoruba. Moreover, Oranmiyan and his entourages founded the other towns in Edo.

As for Oduduwa, Oduduwa the king came from Oke Ora which is stated in Ifa.

Edo and youruba are neighbours...... boundary with Ondo state , Ondo also with Delta state ....Akoko Edo , Olukumi and Itsekiri in Delta also...they share boundaries, so their ethnic groups cut across the boundaries.
