Here are a few food banks by Africans:

How a Ghanaian decided to set up a food bank

Eric Darko had never seen one before a visit to the US. Now he’s launched Eastern Harvest Food Bank, which is believed to be the first food bank in Ghana with warehouse operations.

this is false..Canada does not give this to any citizen...he is here showing it off and completely misleading people with fake information..he purposely lied to a food bank that his family is likely poor and cannot provide for his family or himself... that food came from instacart or a nearby food bank...food banks are sponsored by philanthropist or rich individuals to enable easy to food for the poorest people.. also most of the foods are donated by shops and manufactures.some of them are meant about to expire and requires fast or immediate consumption.

Kpom!

Nigerians can be counted on to be on the forefront when it comes to collecting benefits and/or ‘gaming’ the system...

I totally disagree with this!!!!!!!!!
How large was your sample area? How were you able to identify their race?

Stop being judgmental, human nature has very minimal correlation with skin colour
See useless question. How did I know their race?
Did I tell you I'm blind? Or too stupid to tell a black man from white.?

A commendable one. I'm here trying to paint a picture of how a Nigerian food bank would look like and the image ain't really nice at all... So many things are wrong in this country. Is it possible for people to coordinate themselves in a civil way here while queuing up to collect food? A foodbank is a good idea to start up in this country.

Some people are already doing it like the kokomi foundation and more

God will fight for the masses one day. Imagine the Govt. of this country saying they will give money only to the poor, so it is only the poor that voted them in. In Overseas, distribution of the goodies cut across everyone.

Foodbank paroles grin.
Sometimes, the food may have expired so one has to shine eyes well.
This is a situation nobody wants to be in as it's not a thing of pride. The video is embarassing. I guess he wants to use it to diss naija for reasons known to him alone. The man is a refugee or is either very poor.

Food banks are donation of food from private individuals to help the less privileged. They are delivering them instead due to Covid. On a normal day, he would have gone to queue up to collect the items.

Not just rich individuals or philanthropist sef. Most local grocery stores like Loblaw or Sobey would often have a big box inside stores so that shoppers can drop off as donation items cans, tins or packaged food. They are usually placed close to where lottery tickets are often sold or right beside the exits.
It's not uncommon to see people drop a pack of spaghetti or noodles inside the boxes when they exit the store.

Dont mind them, so many Nigerians go the the food banks, even when there was no COVID19. Some even see poverty as a thing to be proud of. Pls I am not against visiting food banks if you really need it, but some see it as an opportunity to exploit the system as they do in Nigeria even when they can afford it.
What they fail to realise that these activities are on their consumer records and some organizations dig up this during background checks to compare with their resume and profiles they put forwsrd.

I am telling you. A lot of them are doing it, abusing the system.

The problem is he clearly stated supplies " it was distributed at everybody doorstep" were is exact words which was a point blank n straight lie.

Even at that if you make request from food bank online is also a lie. Food bank do not supply food to home even in under this epidemic. You need to get food voucher that you must take to food bank branch before you can be provided with supplies because one those not live in Canada does not mean you are naive to happenings there.

All this I learnt from a relative and someone trying to rubbish Nigeria or it government can not convince me otherwise beside am not foolish to believe an govt in the world can drop supply at every citizen door step.

Stop ranting up and down. Due to the social distance rule. The food banks advertised in paper to call them. Volunteers can drop off food at the homes of people in need. Government is helping out in funding to food banks during this pandemic. The man clearly stated they called the agency and delivery was made. Different provinces and cities in Canada are adopting methods that works for them.
