Seems to me lyk u guys are basing ur judgements on 9ja's kinda singin. Of course throwin punchlines wil always b harder dan Terry G's lyricless blah blah. Bt dat is not singing. Wen u appreciate d thru meanin of singin, den u wl kno u cnt compare it 2 someone dissipatin his anger thru throwin punchlines here and there. |

Both requires training. But rap is easier. Anybody can rap with little training. Example, the President of Uganda His excellency Yoweri Museveni once went to deliver a speech to youths but at a point he started to rap the speech instead and it was cool. It was converted to ringtone all over Uganda and was on top 10 on Radio play. Yet, he had no rap history. Go to youtube.com and search President Yoweri Museveni's rap song. Bottom line: singing is harder. |

Just see it this way, singing a melody and talking a melody. For u to talk, make sense, be on key, stay on a rhythm, rhymes, punchlines, metaphors!!!!! Rap require a lot of hard work. If you wan drive to buy ajinoMoto. holyfield l'omo , the way i handle mike (microphone) make tyson wanna bite me. |

Being a good singer requires hard work and enough practice same goes for being a good rapper Either one is easy for those who know how to do it and difficult for those who don't know how 2 do it. Dats my opinion. PEACE!!! |

amblors: If we want to separate, the writing and voicing processes, then singing is harder than rap.you have all em breath control stuff in rap. I think its utilized more in singing. So I'll give em that, but if u combine the processes : writing + voicing - rap is way more difficult. Most rappers write their own stuff. How many singers write their stuff n make sense? Most of ur western singers even with song writers backing em spit garbage, oh well Singing is more difficult that is why everything has to be specialized. Like having songwriters, Vocalist to voice the song on the right pitch and Composers to make sure every note is perfect. Rap, Swizz beatz can record himself, write his hooks and even Mix it and it will sound hot. Singing by miles is more difficult. Especially reaching the heights of Bocelli, Whitney Houston and Marvin Gaye.  |

Tenderly1: okay,what is it about rapping that makes it more difficult than singing How can they compare Rapping to singing. Even the lyrics they are talking about is just poetry and Songs are also poetic. The difference is songs have different pitches, Stress, Modulation etc. I don't understand how this is a topic to debate. |

deeplow:ok, since English is not my forte lemme try pidgin. shey the topic de address difficulty inherent in both of them? ehen, my own be say even if you be correct singer like Celine Dion eh, you still need to de practice o. you no fit just go sleep and wake up on your performance day come do small voice exercise come tink say you go do well. you go just fucck up! this one no be all o. you still need to sing the song as e suppose be o: all the pitches, beats, breath control, technicalities wey de inside you must get am perfectly. that is why sometimes you go hear say them de do 8 straight hours of rehearsals with their orchestra. my guy no be small thing o, even for the pro them. for rap singing eh, you no need de on key sef because na mostly monotone. you no need high and low pitches, you no need count too much beats, the only thing na breath control wey even singin sef get pass. abeg i don tire, i hope say you understand this one? 1 Like |
