Just a tip of advice to y'all. What is worth doing at all is worth doing on time. I am fortunate to be among the last beneficiaries of free tuition in Sweden. Presently, I won't advice anybody to study in Sweden because of the outrageous tuition fees being charged (around 2.8M tuition for 1 year masters programme and another 1.5M for 1 year living expensis. In total, you will need around 4.3M for 1 year masters programme in Sweden. It is times 2 of that "i.e. 8.6M" if you intend to study a 2 year masters programme and times 3 of that "i.e. 12.9M" if you intend to study a bachelors programme). Sweden started charging tuition fees in 2011 and Finland is most likely to follow the league sooner than you think. Trust me, if Finland implements tuition fee, it will be equivalent to what Sweden is presently charging. This might be your last chance! Waste no time.

The application period will start in 1st of December 2012 to January 2013, And if you would like to apply and need genuine information, kindly post it here and I will get back to you.

Note that studying in Finland is entirely free, from the online application till when you are accepted and there are no tuition fee thereafter. Degrees from Finland are highly respected worldwide and they have some of the world best university that features in the top hundred universities every year e.g. university of helsinki, Aalto university, helsinki university of technology etc.

Many international organisation has rated Finnish educational system as the best in the world including WEF (world economic forum). Finland is also a Schengen country, which gives you an advantages to travel around Europe visa free.

I did everything myself when I was applying to come here recently, and it was successful, and I would like to share some info to genuine applicant who wish to apply in the upcoming application period.

Back to your question. You cannot get admitted to a masters programme with an HND certificate. You can only get admitted to a bachelors programme. Even, you might not need your HND certificate to get admitted to a bachelors programme. All you need is your WAEC or NECO result and pass the entrace examination.

I know believe the level of advancement and quality of life here, it was all surprising when I landed earlier, and it makes me dey happy say i no go spend millions to study in UK as I planned earlier. surprise to even see many americans, canadians, aussie and other EU citizens coming here to study due to their free tuition and high standard of education.

at least you go get your degree and enter other place of your choice if you no wan settle here, just like some dey do

sorry, with your HND qualification, you cant be accepted to any graduate programme in Finland. and be aware that entrance examination is limited to undergraduate student only.

Student are allow to work for a maximum of 25 hours per week, and unlimited hours during holidays, Language might be a barrier to most professional jobs, but not for menial jobs.

How long is does it take for naturalization.

5 years legal continuous residence in Finland, with a proficiency in Finnish language skill. (very hard language, but if i can speak it well in less than two years, i believe you should be able also). but these should not be your worries now, one step at a time, but I understand that you need to make plans.

It all boils down to how she spend, but Like I said earlier, from a survival/oleku/ point of view, 300 euros should be enough if you share a room with someone and for food and other expenses, but since na married woman, then a single room should be the best for her but at highest, it might expand to 350 euros per month if she manage well too.

I treated this earlier, your wife should be strong ooo? the weather here is the biggest challenge, if she can work under harsh weather in winter, then she have no problem surviving, depending on the city, getting a job would be more easier compare to smaller cities.

it depends on you, some settle here, some don't. we all have different choices, but as an African, settling here might be hard due to the differences in culture, weather, social attitudes and acceptance. Finland is not like UK, USA or France, with a multiracial environment. during winter, the weather might get below -35, even in summer, it might still be cold at night, in the winter, it usually get dark from 3pm in the afternoon and bright from 10am in the morning. getting a job will be difficult as a foreigner and the language is one of the hardest in the world to learn to most people but not impossible, (but of course you can be self employed too). but generally, quality of live here is very high, even more better than the uk and usa and many western countries. you may ask your specifically, and I will answer you from there.

I saw there that Gre/Gmat is needed along other requirements for admission. Did u take Gre/Gmat before gaining admission in ur own case? If not which school were u admitted? Thanks

There are many uni you can choose from if you do not met the requirement for Hanken. I did not took anyof those exam except IELTS during my own time.

If you read the thread, I already talked about job prospect, be it professional or menial.

Social life in Finland is boring, at least compared to Naija. It looks weird going to clubs alone, because na only you go dance alone in most cases. no de surprise if you no get a Finnish friend even though you are living here for years, they are too reserved and they dont talk to people they dont know, even to themselves not to foreigners alone. most of your friend would probably be international students. some na classmates friend and after class.

But no worry, na you know wetin you find go farm, but in terms of social life, to be honest with you bro, e no sure at all.

Norway sure, Finland sure too. but na your money for your account them de after. if them suspect or no de satisfy say na your money, or you just go deposit am just because of visa, na straight denial be that. but Norway d expensive wella. Pizza wey i de buy for 6euros in Finland, na 18 euros I buy am for Norway, just make sure say you sort yourself out sha if you enta there.

No universities offers degree programmes in english, unless the universities of applies sciences also known as polytechnic. the next application would open in January and its different with the masters application programme. but its most likely that the entrance exam would not be organisd in Ghana for Naija students, so it might be of no use applying.

if you apply, you will be invited in write an entrance exam to Finland. of which you wont get the visa on examination basis. even if you do, what if you did not pass the exam?
