But I just saw on the Site of one of the schools that it's about 8000 euros for non EU or Scandinavian students. I guess you are reading the right information. some uni has already start charging tuition fee for some courses, but not all. and majority of the uni are still not charging tuition fees yet, but it would be implemented gradually. better apply fast now

Any of the two, but make sure you meet the minimum required score

there is no much expensive involve except the 6000euros annual living expenses, after getting your IELTS/TOEFL and intl passport.

sorry bro. I would not be able to help with this, its not my field of specialization at all. but the fact is, any uni of interest that has not tuition fee yet will accept you, just apply and hope for te best

here you can find all the courses offered by each university in Finland, its a central database programmed by the Finnish ministry of education, and if your course of intent is not there, then its not offered in English in most cases

1. I want to know if a student can actually come to Finland with his/her dependant, and if yes, can the dependant work full time? And can the dependant also go to school afterwards in Finland?
2. On checking the joint universities/schools in Finland, I only saw about 10, is that all the Universities in Finland? And lastly can a student route lead to residency/finnish citizen.

Yes, you can come to Finland if you are legally married even with all your kids, but you would need to prove a reliable source of income or a sufficient amount for your living expenses when you are in Finland. your dependant can also work and study without restriction, its a right that is attached to the residence permit. regardless of your immigration status, you are entitle to study in Finland since its free.

It might not be all, but those are the universities that are available in the Joint application. and yes, a student residence permit in general leads to residency period for eligibility in Naturalization, but only half time is counted. for example

the residency requirement for Naturalization is 5years, if you spend four years on a study permit (B permit), then it count as two years, but after graduation and you start working, then each year count as a full year.

so if you spend 2years on a master degree, and you worked for four years, it approximates 5 years residency requirement and if you can speak the Language, then you can apply

There is Officially no specified date for you to keep the funds in your personal account, but the source of the funds is an important factor.

the point is, regardless of the time period the money was available in your account, there should be a legal proof of funds, if you are working, your payslip and other employers document would be necessary. if you are being sponsored by your parents or an organisation, proof of funds would be examine also.

But the money must be in your account even though you are being sponsored.

Dahonest boss, thank you for your reply, going through the University of Vaasa website now, it seems they starts their own admisssion process in January, but what baffles me is that they state that the student permit will have to be renewed each year. Which means since masters is two academic sessions, which is two years, one need to renew the visa after each academic session right?

If your studies do exceed one year, the residence permit is granted for one year at the time. The extension of residence permit is granted by the local police station. I t is a point based system as well, you are required to score minimum of 100 points to qualify. You score points on five headings:
1. Education
2. Age
3. Adaptability
4. Language
5. Work experience.

Denmark is also Nice. and they are one of the most happiest people on earth. but they don't support Dual nationality, which means you would renounce all other nationality that you already have, and if you willingly acquire another one, you also need to renounce your Danish citizenship unlike Finland.

Yes you are right. if you are admitted to a two year master degree programme, and you got your first residence permit which is valid for one year, you would have to renew your residence permit only once, and after you graduate, you will get a work permit to take up employment in the country.

student residence permit is given at one year at a time. even if you course last for four years, you would be given a year RP and would be renewed annually

Lastly, what is the likelihood of getting a job after graduation, and during studies?

Depending on your study field, chances may be high if you are into IT and health services. but generally, if you are willing to work outside your profession, there is a guarantee that would be able to find a job that would sustain you financially and for residency requirement if Naturalization is your long term plan.

I don't think you would be required to submit GRE or SAT, I might be wrong, but you can as well paste the link where you got that information from here. You can email each of the school specifically eplaining to them that you study in English all through and ask if you can apply with your transcript only, but as far as I have known, the basic requirement are your transcript and either IELTS or TOEFL, thats all

I know alot of undergraduate student that applied with their waec certificate only to some school, and they were accepted but these are exeption, but I will advice you to email each uni of interest specifically.

your transcript and langauge proficiency exam should be enough. no need for any entrance exam.

Some of us might be discourage to take the exam, thinking its hard or something, but I can assure you that if you understand english and can speak it very well, you would pass it, I did mine once and it was fine without any preparation. it worth taking. But in anything you do, DO IT QUICK, calculate the time frame so that you can apply as soon as you get it in december.
