Do you know why I'm equally amazed by your high level of stupidity? Because you sound so convinced meanwhile its obvious you've never been to Akwa ibom state. Go to Akwa ibom state and confirm first, before you appear with your stinking thoughts and start posting crap about my state. Akwa ibom is on the right track. Encourage whoever is on the right track, criticisms is definitely allowed but don't ever forget to compliment a good effort. Foolish man!!!

i dey enter uyo wella, i even sabi umana umana house for ewet.

I sabi d bar wey PRince Akpabio buy dey park those cars wey him use blood money buy.

its not about just blurting out your trap when u dont have a clue. I know those stealing akwa ibom money, due to the largeness of akpabio's mouth, all of Nigeria also now knows.

U guys have next 2 nothing and I hear Akpabio allows u guys to watch #500 naira film which he is also sibsidizing.

stolen funds, lol. movie subsidy. very creative governor!

Pls Akpabio pls borrow some ideas 2 Uduaghan gov of Delta. There's hardly any development there. The guy has been struggling wit only one road in warri since his first tenure(Refinery road). And it was even Ibori that started it. Asaba 2 is nothin 2 write home about. Am wondering wat these guys discuss in their gov forumam

Symphony007: hey, there is more to development that fine roads, there is no state in this country that can compare to rivers state educational and health sector!! And which roads am i seeing here that is'nt in port harcourt? Or is it coloured water fountain? Stale!!

If you are talking of education, don't even mention Rivers state, the state is 100 years behind many state in Nigeria. Rivers state has the highest grade of examination malpratices in Nigeria. If you must know, that is where student can write and pass WAEC in absential, lots more. When you want to mention education, please leave Rivers out of it.

djustice:

Just like the man said, make an effort to get off your fat azz and go there to see for yourself. Development is evenly distributed, unlike Lagos where it's just some parts of Suru-Lere, some parts of the Island and some parts of Ikeja that come anywhere near what we see throughout Akwa Ibom..

Guess what, when they wanted to invest in power, they built a massive 191mw turbine, and now they have 24 hours light in Uyo, unlike the 10mw rubbish on Marina and at Iju that Tinubu's houseboy, Fash-ole is claiming through PPP.

Stop bellyaching and appreciate what is good when you see it. Mumu.

To be sincere,we are yet to have constant power supply,we heard it is due to gas supply to the plant.

We are just new τ̲̅ȍ these things that's why we go about praising any little things those politicians do. All these things ought τ̲̅ȍ have been done years back!!! angry

You missed the deceptive title. It says UYO city and not akwa ibom state and it was done for a reason meaning there is nothing behind uyo..

Like I've always written, a Governor that receives 25 to 30billion monthly and another that receives 3 to 5 billion monthly can only be compared based on how they manage their funds. Most Nigerian States apart from Rivers, Delta, Akwa-Ibom and Bayelsa receive roughly 3 to 4billion and have exactly same recurrent expenditure as Akwa-Ibom. In essence, Akpabio has excess of 20billion monthly when compared with other Governors.

My question to his supporters " is there anything to show for this other than what I've been seeing?"

Am amazed wt d way pple like u think, if d SW govt av d oil money dey wud av transform dia states into small dubai. Wat is new in uyo and d other towns. The little fund available for SW govts is wat dey use to turn d entire states around dey didnt just concentrate on state capital alone.

Uyo is state capital. isn't the governor from Ikot Ekpene? heard he's pumped billion building Ikot Ekpene while the other LGA are abandoned. Useless thief. Not just so, some of the pictures are from Ikot Ekpene. Why not show us pictures from Eket, Ikot Abasi, Oron etc. The Oron side is completely abandoned, yet they produce the bulk of the oil. Akpabio and the OP are bloody liars...

Very good question! We have tried to make them realise they are being fooled by so called uncommon transformation when in fact the governor is fleecing them as evident by the fact that the people of the state are hungry with no jobs...

I don't see why the thread should have degenerated to Akwa Ibom vs Lagos, Akwa Ibom vs Rivers, Akwa Ibom vs South Eastern States, Akpabio vs Fashola, Akpabio vs Attah etc

The states of road in Uyo are very good...the aesthetics abi na beautification beautiful too especially at night. There's this feeling whenever I come in from Calabar and I am approaching Itam junction...the streetlights combined with the faucet-coloured water flowing fountains are enough to make me glad I am back to Uyo...at those times, it doesn't occur to me to praise Attah, Akpabio or compare....that being said, Lagos should not and cannot be compared to Uyo...whoever does so errs. I am of the opinion that roads and aesthetics alone do not make up a city, town; the people in it do. Lagos is miles ahead and not only due to its infrastructures but due to its people too. It's one thing to build infrastructures...it's another thing to have people who appreciate and know the right use of the infrastructures.

The average Akwa Ibom man is not innovatively inclined...well except for the very few who just came in and got exposure from living in other cities.

I remember when okadas were to be banned years back. That day I was stuck with some Akwa Ibom okada men in a shelter because it was raining and Oron road was flooded. These men laughed at the few 'kekes' that were plying the road and navigating the flood. They said nothing would make them drive 'kekes'. Fast forward to the ban and then commuters suffering because very few 'kekes' plyed the roads and charged exhorbitantly till the Igbos from Abia and other neighbouring states came in. The Igbos took over the 'keke' business bringing normalcy to transport fares again before some Akwa Ibom men decided to venture into the 'keke' business either on hire purchase or to drive...now the city is clogged with 'kekes'. Same with the supermarkets...only very few supermarkets which can be counted on the tip of my fingers belong to Akwa Ibom men...they'd rather look for tiny contracts, stuff their pockets and build houses rather than businesses.
Anyways, Akwa Ibom is gradually awakening...people who have come back arer bringing with them ideas to upgrade the mentality of the people.

Good roads are good even if they lead to nowhere but an economically fit and commercial driving people will be better. So, if factories and more job avenues are created, Akwa Ibom can then beat its chest at also helping to make Nigeria better.
Akwa Ibom people will never stop daydreaming, like the average Niger Deltan(except Edo indigenes), they are just too lazy. They believe one can only make it if offered a job in a petroleum outfit, bank or political rallies. Imagine one idiat telling me he's looking for a business that will fetch him 100% net profit one month after take off. They have a very stupeed attitude towards money. I, alongside 2 of my classmates, was arguing with some Uyo dudes when one of my guys asked "what if your state(na Igbo guy) starts enjoying power supply 247 courtesy of Akpabio?" and the guy replied "wetin I wan do with light. I dey find job you dey tiok(talk) light . . . The only thing this guy is good at doing is to shout "for life" when a Man. U. fan scream "juu-nai-taeee(united)??!!!". I asked the other one what he will do with #20million and the guy replied me almost immediately- "I ko yus kari diat money ko buy tiu rensh rofa spiort yeep come dey fleix tiaun. . .(i go just carry that money go buy range rover sport jeep come dey flex town. . .)". This is someone who can't do without asking for salt, toothpaste, matches . . . Daily.

Back to topic, Akwa Ibom is developing but comparing Akpabio to Fashola is like comparing Olivier Giroud to Usain Bolt with respect to a 100m dash. You are doing the latter a great disservice by rating him side by side with Akpabio.
