Inverter ACs are very well friendly with Generators which is depended on Gen capacity. Even when powered, you won't really notice there's much load on the Gen set. Many Banks are making use of them, companies same and individuals.

I've been waiting to get an air conditioning unit but my folks keep on confusing me.
Now what's on my list is Thermocool, Hisense, Midea. I want you to choose one for me. Then another issue is whether to get the inverter or just the normal one.
Someone told me that the inverter when spoilt will be hard to fix. And the normal one cools better than the inverter.

Your contribution will be highly appreciated.

The problem with Inverter ACs is usually the Panel and nothing more. The Panel controls the unit and when it goes bad, it becomes an issue. But they are improving in that aspect and if your neighborhood voltage is very poor, then go for the inverter but if not, go for the regular unit with an R410 refrigerant.

I don't know much about the reliability of the Midea and Hisense Brand. If i am to choose out of those 3, i will prefer a Thermocool.

Cooling is same if not better with Inverter due to stability of voltage but the R410 equipped refrigerant cools better than the R22 which is the old type of refrigerant

But concerning the inverter, I was told that generator can be able to supply necessary power that can manage the AC.

And we do get stable voltage over here but not on steady.
Should I go for the inverter due to the generator advice or the normal one?

For a technology to be newly introduced doesn't satisfy long term durability but when it's used for a while before reviews will attest to that.

I remember when thermocool introduced their deep freezer with an internal condenser, many patronised because the design was really good but after using for a while, many returned it they noticed that once the freezer is fully loaded, the entire body gets really hot and it takes a lot of time to achieve freezing point.

Same thing i faced when i bought a Scanfrost internal condenser deep freezer, after months i ended up selling it and the guy that bought it had to go mount an external condenser before he was able to enjoy it.

As for the inverter AC, yes it works but once the inverter section of the unit develops fault, that ends it as it cannot be salvaged. Most refrigeration tech will advise against it except the individual doesn't mind as it is a matter of choice anyway.

thanks for the insight I really appreciate. I have a question to ask: how is the inverter AC AC friendly on a generator? the only thing I have noticed is that it does not use that starting power, it still consumes more fuel.

...which technician?..all those road side technicians that refuse to update their knowledge...inverter Ac is the best as it provides durability for the compressor..prevents the compressor from over working or working when not needed..and besides the inverter attachment is just an IC or panel attached to the supply of the compressor...very easy to repair..

Imagine a scenario where the operating power of ur AC is 500watt but requires about 2kw to start. U will end up buying a generator of more than 2kw of power just to start the Ac whereas after starting the Ac will just be consuming 500watt for its operation..waste of money..

all thanks to you I fully understand how the Inverter AC works with a generator but how does it works with NEPA they say if you use meter it is the best so you don't have to pay too much for NEPA bill and lastly is the LG dual inverter different from others? thanks

...when u use meter..to start the compressor will draw like 1 to 2 unit from ur meter for starting..if it's to start 30 times for a full day operation imagine the amount of unit u might have lost..but for an inverter system..it soft starts..i.e it doesn't allow the motor to draw excess current from the main supply for starting and during the its operation the motor does not shut off instead reduces it speed and increasing it speed by varying frequency of the supply..u consume less unit using this process..

Low voltage does not only apply to PHCN but also the aspect of generator. When you power an Inverter AC on a small generator depending the allowed capacity, it will power it without stress on the Gen.

An Inverter AC is what you should get because of the prepaid meter so you don't spend much on PHCN Bills. And my recommended brand is Panasonic. If that isn't available around you, LG bought from Fouani being the authorized distributor is a better brand alternative.

No, wattage of 1hp LG Gencool is 830W, am using 3kva parsun Generator it can start the 2 Ac's at the same time (under Gen Mode)

Am using them since July 2015 without any isssue or refilling; just servicing.

Yes its still working perfectly.
I bought them in July 2015, beside washing their filters occasionally i haven't done anything to them not even refilling of freon/gas.

If you are getting a used unit, better you avoid the inverter ACs. You can go with their choice or recommendation since you are getting used.

Inverter AC technology has great improved and the reason why i recommended get the new ones. And again, consider getting one with the R410 Gas as against the R22.

Thanks bro. I eventually got the 1.5hp yesterday. R410A is written on the carton - I believe that means R410 gas - as I'm yet to open the carton.

Yes that's the more friendly Gas and a new technology. The R22 is the old Gas.
