frank417: Well, everything depends on budget. Though Midea isn't a Brand with a track record when it comes to Air-conditioning. |

Bought a second hand lg unit from a user here that deals on ac...the unit isn't cooling as much and the pipes are freezing outside. I don't know if its the installer that did a rush job or the unit itself that is faulty. 1 Like 1 Share |

Need a 1.5hp inverter AC |
Re: Which Brand Has The Best Air Conditioner? by sacramento1212: 7:24am On Dec 13, 2020 |
guente02: Insufficient freon. Contact the installer again to top Gas and also confirm there's no leaks. Once he does that, you won't experience any problem again. |

The LG Inverter ACs are the best in the market. The low power consumption as low as 800W in the 1HP GenCool models is amazing for an air-conditioner. They also try to be ahead of other brands in using the best and most environmentally friendly AC gas, R410, which means their ACs must have higher pressure than others to work with this gas. They usually come with 2 years warranty too. 3 Likes |

fashrola: Will a Stabilizer make the AC chill when in low current? And if so, what capacity should one buy for a 1HP type? Thanks. |

I'm about buying a UK used panasonic 1.5hp inverter AC. I'll greatly appreciate feedback from someone who has used a UK used panasonic inverter AC or who know about peoples experiences with it. Thank you |

sacramento1212: Midea brand for AC's exceptionally good, same with nexus, have both 1.5HP 2 years and running now no issues at all,I use with 5kva stab thou, and cooling is 100% perfect |
Re: Which Brand Has The Best Air Conditioner? by noobody(m): 1:20am On Dec 17, 2020 |
lebete3000: Yes if the current is not too exceptionally low. 5kva and up,buy good brands like original century ,avoid anything called duravolt,it's rubbish |
Re: Which Brand Has The Best Air Conditioner? by lebete3000: 3:12am On Dec 17, 2020 |
noobody: The low current can actually power my TV, DSTV & Home theater without any backup or stabilizer. So would this kind of 5000VA stabilizer be able to "draw" enough current to power the AC as my electrician suggested? Make I know before I waste 50k ontop stabilizer... |
Re: Which Brand Has The Best Air Conditioner? by noobody(m): 8:37am On Dec 17, 2020 |
lebete3000: Yes,if the current is powerful enought to power tour TV and the likes, the stab would step up current and power your ac,I am sure if that, intact I hav had very bad currents that won't power my led TV,but the AC would work with stab connected, but not in all cases sha. |

Nerdray: That's a long time when it was manufactured. However, there are other things to look out for. The Brand is reliable even though it's China Origin as against Malaysia. Is the compressor factory & untampered? Overall condition of the outdoor & indoor and finally, the price. That will enable you know if it'll be a good buy or not. |

Re: Which Brand Has The Best Air Conditioner? by lebete3000: 10:33pm On Dec 19, 2020 |
fashrola: Sorry lemme get you right please. Do you mean from 5KVA up would work for a too low current, or otherwise? |
Re: Which Brand Has The Best Air Conditioner? by fashrola(m): 9:52am On Dec 20, 2020 |
lebete3000: If a voltage is very low..... Even a 10KVA Stabilizer won't pick up/run a non inverter AC except you have money to buy a triple booster Stabilizer which cost a lot of money.... Inverter AC is really good in a low voltage area and it will run well with a double boost stabilizer in the other hand, it doesn't need heavy startup current - they only start gradually, so as long as the voltage is in the range of the stabilizer’s low end, the AC will start smoothly and cool the room, may be it will just take a little bit longer, but it will do it. 2 Likes |

sacramento1212: Finally I decided to buy a brand new panasonic AC 1.5HP. sadly, I have made a mistake by trusting a seller in Lagos. I asked him repeatedly and he insisted that it's 410A gas. On receiving it in Awka today I realised its R22 rated, am so pissed now. I called him and he said it might be R22 rated but it's gas is 410A. Can you imagine such nonsense. Please how Ok is it to use R22 because am thinking of sending it back to Lagos. So bitter now Can my Sumec 3000 Carry it?? |
Re: Which Brand Has The Best Air Conditioner? by amstamon: 1:44am On Dec 22, 2020 |
I always advice people to buy brand new AC, or better still a second hand AC from someone that bought it brand new (maybe a year used). You see all these UK used? Forget it. Most of them are scrap and tampered on. When it comes to AC, TV, refrigerator or sound system, my brother avoid anything tokumbo or UK used. Either buy brand new or check online for maybe a year or less neatly used that is bought new if you can't afford the brand new. 6 Likes |
Re: Which Brand Has The Best Air Conditioner? by sacramento1212: 12:26am On Dec 25, 2020 |
Nerdray: Nothing like "might". It's either an R22 or 410. Nothing wrong with the R22 anyway. However, as for powering it with your Sumec, i wouldn't know about that anyway. The truth is that, if I'm in the market for any AC purchase now, i wouldn't be buying an ordinary unit. If it's not inverter, i won't buy because of the advantage of low Power consumption considering the aspect of Prepaid meters as well as an easy load on Generator with even a small capacity. The technology on Inverter unit now have greatly improved. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Hello I have an ac Lg low voltage, though not inverter ac that I used for over 3years without stabilizer, before packing it. Recently I remembered the ac and decided to install it in my room and when I called a technician to loose it and reinstall in my room, he said the compressor is short on gas, after he has finished installation. I told him to refill gas, and he did, and came again to tell me, that the ac compressor is bad and need to change. I asked him how much he said its almost 18k for 1.5hp which the ac is and a Belgium compressor is good. I gave him money to put the Belgium compressor and the noise from the ac is too much, as if it's a generator when an using it. Another thing now is that the ac is no longer cooling, and he said the compressor is bad again, that I need to change it, I was like it's not upto 4months I changed it, and he said it's current that is spoiling the compressor because am using it without stabilizer. So my question is must all ac be used with stabilizer? Because for like three years I bought this ac I didn't use any stabilizer and it worked perfectly. |
