The truth is that, if I'm in the market for any AC purchase now, i wouldn't be buying an ordinary unit. If it's not inverter, i won't buy because of the advantage of low Power consumption considering the aspect of Prepaid meters as well as an easy load on Generator with even a small capacity.

Panasonic as a Brand just have a reliable name in the AC market especially one from Malaysia. And i guess the same for the Inverter series. However, u know it's very pricey that's the reason why many people opt for other cheaper Brands. I've noticed that a lot of people are Buying Thermocool too same way as LG. Atleast u'll guaranteed of warranty for a certain period.

If you can, purchase the Panasonic if price isn't a factor or go for Thermocool.

According to sellers they refer to is as the worthy replacement to Panasonic ac's
They have authorised outlets in Nigeria,so parts should not be scarce,but note,it's not cheap.

My LG AC doesn't start again (it will be as if the current is too low but its not).
Before now it has been working for almost 4 years now. Last week the compressor will cool for almost 15 secs and stop and start again for 30 secs but now it wont run again.

What do u think Its the issue please?

Finally I decided to buy a brand new panasonic AC 1.5HP.
sadly, I have made a mistake by trusting a seller in Lagos. I asked him repeatedly and he insisted that it's 410A gas. On receiving it in Awka today I realised its R22 rated, am so pissed now. I called him and he said it might be R22 rated but it's gas is 410A. Can you imagine such nonsense.

Please how Ok is it to use R22 because am thinking of sending it back to Lagos. So bitter now

I have an ac Lg low voltage, though not inverter ac that I used for over 3years without stabilizer, before packing it.

Recently I remembered the ac and decided to install it in my room and when I called a technician to loose it and reinstall in my room, he said the compressor is short on gas, after he has finished installation.

I told him to refill gas, and he did, and came again to tell me, that the ac compressor is bad and need to change.

I asked him how much he said its almost 18k for 1.5hp which the ac is and a Belgium compressor is good.

I gave him money to put the Belgium compressor and the noise from the ac is too much, as if it's a generator when an using it.

Another thing now is that the ac is no longer cooling, and he said the compressor is bad again, that I need to change it, I was like it's not upto 4months I changed it, and he said it's current that is spoiling the compressor because am using it without stabilizer.

So my question is must all ac be used with stabilizer?

Because for like three years I bought this ac I didn't use any stabilizer and it worked perfectly.

I have never used a stab for my LG inverter Ac.

Hier thermocool is the best in cooling.

Insufficient freon. Contact the installer again to top Gas and also confirm there's no leaks. Once he does that, you won't experience any problem again.

Air filter may be dirty, if filter is clean but indoor Fan isn't blowing as it should, then the indoor may not be breathing well and would require trapping of freon, removal for flush with a pressure pump or Outdoor may be dirty as well which may require cleaning or shortage Gas.

If your ac compressor has been tripping off after every few seconds, this could be a case of short cycling, the compressor may be getting overheated and tripping off an internal overload. This could be caused by a lack of refrigerant and very dirty condenser coils

But since you said the technician checked on the capacitor and its working fan, then condenser fan is ruled out here.....

So he should check the following:

Check if there's refrigerant in the unit
Test the overload relay
Clean the condenser coils
Check the working condition of the fan

if all above is rectified and problem persists... Then you need to replace your compressor

Now, he's suggesting I go for Hisense 1.5hp. I really dunno if it's a good choice.

Advise me please, do I add more money and take this 2HP Midea or I should go for the Hi sense....adding more money isn't a problem, I just feel like people prefer Midea more on this thread.

Hisense ac's are good,you would enjoy it as much as the midea,but if you can afford the 2HP,go for that,I am sure the midea comes with free installation kit too.
