The father should buy the iphone for the boy and set parental lock on it. To ensure he doesn't go visit place he shouldnt be going to. He made a promise so he has to fulfil it.. the boy would do more than this in his academic studies knowing fully well his father would always get him a nice present. These days kids need motivations and there is no greater joy than seeing your child performing wonderfully well in academics

You aren't fair in your judgement at all.. So if that's your boy, u will succeed in killing his zealous spirit and his talent at the same time.. Instead give him another reason why he should not start using the phone till he's up to 15 years .. BUT THE FATHER SUPPOSE GET THAT KIND MONEY BEFORE PROMISING OOOOO

A deals a deal. Teach the young man basic and essential ethics and the importance of keeping to our words... Meanwhile there's no harm in getting him an iPhone so long as there is no data. So for data and other benefits he may as well be required to maintain the grades. Tech wiz in the making

Get him the phone on the condition that he maintains his excellent performance otherwise it will be taken back.
Think twice next time when promising a child, you can also work around on something that will be more beneficial.
What does that teacher mean by "low self esteem" ?
