If you had a modicum of common sense you would pause and carefully analyse the entire scenario and not be bigoted.

The presidential elections are fast approaching and then suddenly we are having all manner of killings everywhere. Something that wasn't so 2 years ago is suddenly now a daily occurrence.

Some persons are stirring the waters of hatred behind the scenes and watching people like you reacting in ignorance to it while further giving them the results they want as they muddy the waters of Nigeria with their songs of ethnic Intolerance.
The same thing happened in jonathans time as the Chibok girls were kidnapped. So I could as well say APC was causing hatred behind the scenes also. You see why I say you are dumb.

Please shut up. Buhari in the two times he ruled this country he performed woefully. Two recessions and a batant disregard for human rights. Buhari proscribed a non violent groupp like IPOB(i don't support them) yet he did nothing to miyetti allah who act like the spokesmen for the terrorists.

Go and take your medicine.

Again ethnic bigotry is all I see in your comment.. If you do not understand anything going on it would be wise to shut up.

I have had encounters with fulanis on so many occasions. Even when I was alone on my farm and they were very polite and courteous and I ha e them as friends and learned how to speak Hausa from them.

I am not saying there are no bad eggs among them. I am saying that what we are seeing is a ripple effect of growing ethnic intolerance which Nigerians have allowed themselves to be deceived into.

Now some persons are leveraging off this intolerance by playing dice with deaths of people all I'm an attempt to rubbish the government of the day. At the end of the day all they see it as is just a means to an end. What is the end? That they return to power.

If for 16years you never benefited from them is it now that you would?

It smacks of insensitivity and you can never find a responsible govt playing politics with death figures like this.

I am even more sorry for the brainless person (s) who liked your post. No human sympathy left in u guys.
so the guys who presided over the deaths of more people before and are now flying flags at half masts are not doing it for political gains?

I don't think you read where I said the then security adviser Azazi under the appointment of PDP declared that PDP is boko haram and boko haram is PDP and got killed for that statement.

So when you talk about chibok girls was it not under the same government that Azazi declared that boko haram originated from. That being the case, how did it involve APC when the one knowledgeable enough to point fingers at APC actually pointed it at PDP.

They must keep making errors so that there downfall will be great. Both PDP and APC doesn't care about lives of people, they are just same, and I think every right thinking Nigerian should not be behind any of the two parties. Since power has being changing hand in the USA between the Democratic and Republican, have you see them counting scores of their failures, there target is America must move forward, and nothing more. I expected Adeshina to address Press Men on Government plans and techniques to stop bloodhed and innocent killings in Nigeria, which we all know can be dated back from 1960

This country is doomed. How can a group of very selfish and wicked politicians hold the country to ransom? Now it's a killing competition, my dead bodies are more than yours. I don't think the first republic or second republic politicians committed as much atrocities before the soldiers eased them out.

President Buhari administration has totally failed this country. Sometimes I wonder is Pmb know when all these statements are made and if he has Ever taking action stop his media assistants. How can this solve the issue on ground. It is time to find the final solution to killings in Nigeria. What does PDP has to do with your failure to tackle the pressed chanlllange of this nation. Every Nigerians should go get his or her PVC, and do the needful. I know they will try to rigg the election, but with every one contribution, we will over come. God bless Nigeria

I have read many comments and I can see why an adage in Yoruba says; "You might be educated, but you might not have wisdom" that is exactly the way most of our youth are.

The killings happening in the middle-belt and in Nigeria has been happening for years. Instead of the past administrations should find a lasting solution to this menace, they keep fueling it, just because they gained from it. As at 1999 I could remembered all the killings that occurred in Nigeria. The issue in middle-belt is just pure hatred, where they don't tolerate one another. Why would you attack one another just because you are of different ethnic group/religion. I said it yesterday, the issue in plateau state and other part of Nigeria won't stop until will stop playing politics with religion and ethnicity.
This administration is looking for a way by improving on the security in Plateau state and talking to all the tribal leaders in that states. A former governor of Benue state is presently being questioned for sponsoring militias. You people won't say anything about it.

PDP should keep shut, we all know all the atrocities they committed during their tenure.

Nobody compared deaths. I do not know how hard it is to understand what you read. What was done was to let people like you wake up from the puppet you are being turned Into by those fanning the flames of ethnic bigotry in Nigeria.

You are just being made to realise that for 16yrs PDP showed no compassion towards all the huge numbers of deaths in their tenure and suddenly they now want to preach compassion and mourning when they never mourned a single dead in their tenure

A lot of Nigerians obviously suffer from short term memory issues and are easily emotionally pushed when it comes to ethnicity and religion so its easy to leverage off that by the opposition by using well calculated comments and choice of words which people like you seem to enjoy reading about without realising how ethnically bigoted its making you.

People have died. Ethnic bigotry or crocodile mourning is not the solution. You cannot claim to love me now that you are no longer in power when you never loved me when you were in power. That is deception and many of you are being badly deceived

THE Presidency has accused the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of shedding crocodile tears by declaring a mourning period for people killed in Plateau state, saying that even though more people were killed under the former ruling party, it never declared a mourning period.

A statement issued by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, in Abuja on Thursday, gave a list of killings under PDP which it said the party never mourned.

The statement said that it was sad and unfortunate killings in Plateau state over the weekend have been turned to an opportunity to once again play irresponsible politics, particularly by the PDP.

The PDP had on Wednesday declared seven days of mourning during which it said flags in its office will fly at half mast.

The presidency stated: “These are dolorous times that call for deep introspection on how cheap human lives have become, and the proffering of actionable ideas on how to get out of the bind. But the PDP would rather dance on the graves of the dead, playing cheap, infantile politics.

“The comatose and prostrate party is declaring seven days of mourning, during which flags in its offices would be flown at half-mast nationwide. But unknown to the party, those flags had been forcefully lowered since its 2015 loss at the polls and may remain so for a long time to come, because Nigerians are politically discerning, and cannot be hoodwinked by cheap antics.

“A quick checklist of some savage and brutal killings in Nigeria during PDP rule, between 1999 and 2015, for which no national mourning was declared:

“November 20, 1999. Odi, in Bayelsa State, was invaded on orders of a PDP President. About 2,500 people killed. No national mourning.

“Between February and May 2000, about 5,000 people were killed during riots over Sharia law in different parts of the North. No national mourning.

“In 2001, hundreds of people, including the old, infirm, women and children were killed in Zaki Biam. No crocodile tears.

“Between September 7-12, 2001, Jos, Plateau State, erupted in internecine killings. Between 500 and 1,000 people were killed. Flags were not flown at half mast.

“In February 2004, at least 975 people were killed in Yelwa-Shendam, Plateau State. No mourning by the then ruling PDP.

“Between November 28 and 29, 2008, Jos was in flames again, with 381 deaths. No mourning.

“In 2010, 992 people killed in Jos. Mum was the word.

“In 2014 alone, according to Global Terrorism Index, at least 1,229 people were killed in the Middle Belt. No mourning.

“Boko Haram killings in PDP years were over 10,000. PDP flags were still fluttering proudly in the sky.

“Those who take pleasure in twisting statements from the Presidency may claim we are saying that many more people were killed under PDP than under President Muhammadu Buhari. It would be unconscionable to do so. The intendment of this statement is to show that wanton killings had been with us for awhile; this government is working towards enduring solutions; and should be given the opportunity to do so.

“Even a single soul is precious, and no man should take a life, which he cannot create. But when tragic situations as had happened in Plateau State occur, such should never be used to play crude politics. Those who are wont to do so should have change of hearts, or lose their very humanity.”

I have said it time and time again.
The biggest problem of our country is with the youths, males and females alike.

Look at them!

Every person commenting on this thread is equally playing politics with the dead.

Even though Mr Adesina has clearly explained himself these fools are falling over themselves to make cheap political statements.

Why this cheap hypocrisy from this PDP?

What is the meaning of flags at half mast?

What is the meaning of always playing politics with deaths when they didn't fare better when they were in power?

PDP should let other parties or pressure groups talk and let them continue to bury their heads in shame forever.

Well they know how gullible and fickle Nigerian youths are so they can feel free to continue pulling the dumbness cards of these Nigerians on nairaland.

Question:

In 16 years of power when did the PDP ever fly flags at half mast despite the death of over 20,000 Nigerians.

If you cannot answer this question then whatever politics you are playing with dead Nigerians will visit your own very family.

That is what you get with nairaland lazy youths who refuse to read the article and comprehend.
