God has said he will bless those who give to him. Perhaps, those poor and hungry people are those who fail to give God despite their condition. God will never stop asking for money from you no matter how poor you are. Remember how Jesus watched when that widow gave her last Mite, he even praised her. If someone like you existed in those days, you would have acted like a bloody Pharisee and questioned why Jesus didn't tell the poor widow not to bother putting the money in the offering plate.
