Power Mech Staff Complain Of Being Forced To Work Despite Lockdown

Staff of Power Mech company working on the Dangote Refinery have complained to the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Damodardas Modi of the actions of their employers. They claim that they are being made to work through the Coronavirus pandemic and even threatened with violence.

The workers in a video with their leader speaking said every other company is observing the lockdown as announced by the Federal Government of Nigeria but Power Mech has refused to obey the directive and the workers are being driven out of their rooms in what they described as slavery. They also say only Power Mech is forcing staff to work as other companies have asked their workers to stay away.

Idiots, you better work. Work till your head is fully bald

If you see the way these people treat Nigerian employees in our soil all in the name of owning factories, you go sorry for them. And it's not as if they wipe their bumbum after sh*tting with all the bossy attitude grin

There was one I know in a reputable company, he just say make he take small nap after overnight factory work, this Indian man just spot am from afar go carry fluorescent bulb break am for him head from sleep. oboy e no funny that day.

nt good bt i think is nothing compared to what our citizens see in the hand of these indians in their poorly equipped factories scattered around the country xpecially in lagos..giving us total slavery with no or less p.p e to work with n peanuts to take home, if u complain dey say its brown collar job n dey are helping our lives since d govt can gv us jobs...expatriates suffering n mocking us in our own countries n d worst part b say na our fellow naija brodas dm de use de frustrate us jus bcoz of money n incentives...d harsh memories den for factory work wasnt funny, na jus for mk man comot 4 ous to gain small respect n avoid see finish n mk man survive since we no wan turn tugs 4 streets bt this days boys don enter streets fully n de bomb sites de cashout big time, cnt blame dm bcox no jobs without connection wey street boys no get n dm de mk daily papers watin factory work no fit gv dm in 10 yrs...who am i to judge dm??

so many people outchea dey even find work wey Dem go do...if Dem no wan work...they should put it down in writing so that people that are willing to work can take over...Shekina

Now they understand how some Nigerians feel working like slaves under them.

Funniest thing is that these guys complaining are very well paid. They earn in dollars and most of their living expenses are borne by the company.

You wanna get paid for doing nothing? Lol... I feel for them sha

A lot is said to be happening at that Dangote refinery site as different companies are deployed there working in different sections.

A doctor lamented about how they have covid patients but are covering it up so government will not close it down till further notice.

I'm sure the outrage must have gotten to the government that have also decided not to act because it is Dangote

If Nigerians working in Nigeria complain, Indians too working in Nigeria, some as expatriates will also complain. When they all live within or close to the company premises.

Can you Imagine

I'm sure Power Mech is already behind schedule according to contractually agreed timelines that's why they're racing to finish the job otherwise they would incur additional cost overruns which could result in a loss for the company undecided
