Supremos:Did Inec use the word 'including' in its own clause? It says "25% in the 36 states and Abuja. That means Abuja which is not actually a state is considered a state here for electoral purposes. If it says 36 states 'including' Abuja, that means Abuja is already with the 36 states. But it wasn't stated that way. This case is clear but to deluded obi supporters. The way you stated yours is completely different. And again, not all courses at the University requires mathematics. |

Obaaderemi2: I've asked you here before but you refused to answer, where in the electoral act or constitution is it written that Abuja in that case is considered a state?. I asked you that question earlier but you ignored it. You just contradicted yourself. You said Abuja is NOT ACTUALLY A STATE , but you want us treat Abuja as a state for your convenience. I will ask you a simple and straight question, how many states does Nigeria have?. 36 or 37?. If you say 37, then Abuja is a state, and you have to tell me who is the governor of Abuja and the state assembly members. If you say 36, then Abuja isn't a state, but Nigeria's sit of power, the capital city, and hence, If you want to preside over Nigeria, you ought to have simple majority, and win 25% in 2/3 of the states of the federation and Abuja. |

Supremos:You keep shooting yourself to pieces. Thank you for admitting I never said Abuja is a state. Abuja is not a state, that's why it has a minister of the fct and not governor. As a matter of fact Abuja is inside the fct. We have 36 states in Nigeria but we also have people living in the fct and they vote too. Their votes also count but not more important than those of Osun, Imo or Edo. So we are not just going to say 25% in 2/3 of 36 states because Fct also has voters. So the Constitution just said 25% in at least 24 states alAND Fct. In this case fct is regarded as a state. If this is the argument you obi supporters are basing your hope on, you have lost again. Maybe you should use the argument that Tinubu changed his name from Amoda Ogunlere to Bola Tinubu, if it's not too late. |

Supremos: You guys are very funny . What makes Abuja special? Every state in Nigeria including Abuja have the same tax, carry the same NIN, international passport, PVC etc . If you can answer me this question I’ll be happy if FG decides to sell Petrol at # 65 to only Abuja residents, give out palliatives only to Abuja residents won’t you complain that Abuja citizens are equal to every Nigerian ? then you’ll bring up issues like we pay the same taxes , carry the same International passport etc. That FCT case is not logical at all. If winning FCT alone makes you president there’s no need to hold elections in other states let’s all go to Abuja and vote simple a Nigerian I’ve a right to vote anyway . Your question has been answered. |
Re: Credit pass in 5 subjects including English and Mathematics by Supremos: 10:47am On Jul 18, 2023 |
How many states does Nigeria have? 36 or 37 states?. If 37 states, for electoral convinience, is 2/3 of 37 states 24?. Absolutely no. Nigeria has 36 states that's why 2/3 of the state is 24. Hence the framers of our constitution said you ought to win 25% of the total votes cast in 24 states bearing in mind that Nigeria has only 36 states and FCT which has a special status as the capital of the federal republic of Nigeria. |

Obaaderemi2:No sir, you are the one shooting yourself to pieces. You have agreed with me that Nigeria has 36 states and that's why the framers of the constitution said you must have 25% in 24 states, which is 2/3 of 36 AND FCT. FCT if considered a state here, then the framers of the constitution would have said, Simple majority and 25% in 24 states or 25% in 25 States, without laying emphasis on FCT. FCT isn't considered a state that why it was mentioned. If it were considered a state, it wouldn't have been mentioned. Yes everybody pays tax in every state, but Not every state is the federal capital territory. |

famology:you are the one reading without any comprehension. The electoral law said Simple majority and 25% of the votes cast in 24 states and FCT. |
Re: Credit pass in 5 subjects including English and Mathematics by nicedayontop: 11:01am On Jul 18, 2023 |
The way these obedients reason sef is out of this world. A mathematics competition is organised by a foreign school to get 25 best students of mathematics in all the secondary schools in the 36 states and the FCT. I was one of the coordinators in Abuja. The 25 best students were gotten through 100 objective mathematics questions administered the same day and time in all the 36 states and the fct. Now, the argument is that if fct has a special status, it would have given a privilege of producing another set of 25 best students of mathematics. In most official statements or documents, it is very common to see the phrase " in all 36 states and the fct" meaning there are 37 entities in the narration. |

anonymous1759:you are trying to sound smartly ignorant. Nobody said only 25% in FCT will give anybody presidency. Obviously you have not been reading from the beginning, only jumped in to talk trash like agbadoist you are. If Abuja is not special, why not move Aso Rock to your state. Why not move all the national assets in Abuja to your state since your state and Abuja is equal. More like saying since all fingers are in the same hand, they must be equal. |
Re: Credit pass in 5 subjects including English and Mathematics by Supremos: 11:12am On Jul 18, 2023 |
nicedayontop:Your analogy is hogwash. I will only respond to the bolded. I have asked earlier in this thread, how many states are in Nigeria. 36 or 37?. If by your analogy you are saying we have 37 states in Nigeria, how come the framers of the constitution pegs the 2/3 of the states in Nigeria to be 24?. If 2/3 of States in Nigeria is 24, it means states in Nigeria is 36, and that's all we've known since time immemorial. FCT is not a state, it's Nigeria's sit of power. The electoral law says you must win 25% of the votes cast in 24 states and FCT. The mathematics exam you're using for example, what was the one written in Abuja tagged?. Federal Capital Territory 'State' exam?. |

Re: Credit pass in 5 subjects including English and Mathematics by Obaaderemi2: 11:29am On Jul 18, 2023 |
Supremos:How can they say 25 states when fct is not a state? But it's a territory with voters in it. It doesn't mean those voters are more important than others. But they have to consider fct too. That's why it's added behind the 36 states. You should have asked yourself what makes a vote in Abuja more important than your own wherever you voted. FCT for electoral purposes is seen as an extra state. What makes Abuja taxpayer more important than Lagos taxpayer? It's like saying a voter in Washington DC is more important than one in Maine. I just hope you wouldn't cry when the supreme court throws out this dumb assertion. |

Supremos: If Abuja is special why is Abuja residents sharing the same Tax , Salaries, NIN , international passport with the rest of Nigerians? Your likes that speaks of marginalization will be the first to cry Fowl if Abuja residents are given preferential treatments in tax , Gas , PMS, salaries etc. can’t wait for the judiciary to clear your ignorant doubts. Abuja is equal to every other states it’s shares the electoral college vote of 25% with the rest states if you get 25% in Abuja it’ll added to you . The constitution states all votes are equal including the president. If any vote is special it’ll be that of the president. Abuja is a state when it comes to elections if Abuja is not a state elections wouldn’t be held there.with all the ranting you couldn’t answer my questions. Just blabbing . |

Obaaderemi2:you kept qouting non existing law and contradicting yourself. You said FCT for electoral purpose is seen as a state. Which part of the constitution did you read this. Who said so. You can't be here and there. It's either you accept that FCT isn't a state, or you say FCT is a state. You can't keep playing smart. FCT becomes state when it pleases you, and when it doesn't please you it isn't a state. |

Supremos:You never learn. This has nothing to do with me. The grammar is clear unless to those who have a poor grasp of the English language and mischievous people. Fct is not a state. That's why state ekections don't hold there but during presidential and other federal elections, it gains the status of a state but it's votes are the same as other states since Nigeria does not have an electoral college. The Constitution says as much with the use of the conjunction "And". But you are not ready to learn. You want to keep holding on to your erroneous interpretation so that you could shout that you were cheated if Obi's dead case is thrown out the window. Just the same way I had to correct you on your heading. This is a legal luminary talking here:
