Thank you @leef2022

Please can anyone suggest a test provider for day 2 test as I want to book for one today.

leef2022:

your choice, but me reminded pounds is the legal tender, meaning if you went with $ you would have to buy pounds which you wont like the exchange rate.

Biometrics done 30/11/21... Just checked and application has been transferred to vac.

It is a visitor visa for my mom to visit us in the UK.

Please who knows about good travel health insurance and has anyone here benefited from it..

Let me be preparing in advance.. hopefully the visa will be a positive response..

No refusal email received so far

Fingers crossed

Congratulations in advance. It sounds like good news. The current trend is no refusal email in inbox or junk means approval.

Please when was the biometric capture date for the application, I have an outstanding application for my parents, trying to gauge how long this process might take.

Sorry, I do not have any information on health insurance. It's not something I have ever considered, it'll be interesting to know the benefits and cost. If anyone has experience please it will be helpful.

In the past I've just taken my mum to our local gp, registered her as a visitor. She had consultations and was prescribed medication which we paid for. We also have to pay for her prescriptions at the pharmacy although prescriptions are free in Scotland. We keep all the receipts for visa applications and it has never been an issue.

Okay, well if the eco determined that the documents at that time were fake, be it knowingly or not, the applicant would be served with a 10year ban and would have to serve the 10 years, especially in the event such refusal and decisions were communicated to the applicant at that time. But again, each application is handled on individual case.
The main applicant may want to write an AR for the dependent or ask an immigration lawyer to help do so.
Best wishes.

It’s noted.

Thanks most sincerely for your contributions.

Una well done o.
Please I just arrived Aberdeen 2 days ago and currently in Airbnb. I'm in dire need of an accomodation in Aberdeen, I'm a postgraduate student of RGU and would appreciate pointers to getting one asap edakun.
I know this might be the wrong thread for this, but na help I dey find so

Check rightmove, zoopla, gumtree and Facebook marketplace. Consider placing an advert on Gumtree too. Beware of scammers on gumtree and Facebook market place.
Also are you looking for a flat or room? There are websites such as spareroom where rooms are advertised. Try a general search on Google with the search term 'flat share in aberdeen' and 'house share in aberdeen'.
I hope you find a place soon.

it doesnt change anythin. Most times women change the name on their nin to be able to do do name chnage on passprt, as u already have it done on ur passport which is a legal document, there are no compelling circumstances at this point

Ok, I'm in England and I'm afraid because I don't know how much prescriptions cost here. And also if there is emergency that may require A&E intervention, it will be too expensive. No one prays for such though.

You can go with dollars if you can't access pounds but make sure you change at the post office and not the airport Bureau de change as their rates are ridiculous.

My husband use the 6 month statement but a friend of mine who works at a multinational and so does her husband only used the reference letters along with their payslips. They were both approved but I'm not sure this approach will work for a business owner. So, you can apply with both to be on the safe side.

@Leef is a bank reference necessary or my bank statement (downloaded via email) sufficient?

I wish everyone luck.

Alright, I wish you all the best but this sounds extremely fishy. What mum or family wants their first year student engaged in marriage at such a young age. Why is their focus in moving you over there to be with her? What is your purpose to them? Have you met her physically? How did you meet? I think you need to ask yourself these important questions. In England, 99% of sixthformers finish off at age 18. Most freshers are 18 and turn 19. Why is a family's focus for an 18/19 year old to ship a man from Nigeria to be close to her so soon. This doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Is she physically challenged and they need a care taker for her? Why is their focus not on her excelling at Uni, getting internships, holiday jobs, planning for her Post Grad etc. I appreciate your honesty and transparency unlike those who keep claiming "my friend, my friend" but please analyze this carefully. If you are still convinced, why not try the visiting visa route for now and/or the student route since the spousal route isn't feasible.

Deehemjay:

Okay thanks sis
This was her idea though cos she was like she wants me there so soon.. I was like we could even find easy ways aside the marriage stuffs
N she said one of her sisters said the marriage would be the easiest n fastest
Even her mom is a British/Nigerian and she also wants me to be there so just like we need any easy ways to be there
I thought they can give an invite or any other thing or is it not possible?

Loooool, Giselle! That was quite hilarious. I've honestly been wondering who these friends and good Samaritans are and why the friends can't do the research on their own. I remember someone who came back to give a testimony saying when he enquired for his "friend", he didn't get encouraging feedback but went ahead anyway and he's here to confirm he got the visa and there was really no friend. The platform is already faceless so I wonder why the need to weave these intricate stories. To each, his own.

giselle237:

You just got a job. There is no friend. The advice is for you and there is nothing wrong with that.
that out of the way… You dnt need a backdated certificate. Moslems get visa approved with nikkai certificate. It is accepted. As long as you are married, it is not only marriage certificate embassy is lookong for. You need to prove that the marriage is genuine and subsisting and therefore need evidence to cover this, church certificate is just one factor.. you need to tick other boxes. There is absolutely nothin wrong with chirch certificate pls scrap the idea of forging certificate out of your mind. Scrap it totally. You are married.

Thank you for your response. I will make enquires regarding the insurance as i can understand the need to have the protection in place. I'll copy you in if I find any tangible information.

Ironically, my mum just received her collection and dispatch of document emails few minutes ago. I had zeroed my mind on another month wait. No refusal email so far. However my dad's application is still at DMC.

Let her come with a good supply of her medications. You can register her at your GP surgery as a visitor. You can also do travel insurance with AXA Mansard if you are keen on getting her a travel insurance.
In emergencies, visitors don’t pay for emergency treatment, except if the person is admitted on the ward.

@aliyu pls go through my previous submission and then work on all her ties and see what can be amended

Yes, I've done all you suggested. I still have a few questions that I need your help with.

I have had a look at her two bank statements for the last 6 months.
- Her savings account has a closing of 400kplus. It's very clean, 9 deposits all made by her in the last six months. Minimal withdrawals too.
- Her day to day account. Closing balance of 1k plus. It's very busy, deposits from her kids, husband, in-law, and those I don't recognise their names.
- I have looked at her husband's payslips, 300kplus a month.
- The two landed properties are in her husband's name. One document is missing, they are looking for it but one document is available.
- She is retired and receives pension but we repeatedly requested for a letter from the pension people but they refused to write one. They kept insisting she get's a letter from the UK embassy as proof of why she needs the letter. It's not possible to do this so I went with the unemployed option. This pension is not paid monthly but four times a year. It's paid into her busy day to day account and on the statement, the pension appeared on the 1st of July and 1st of October.
- She does have a petty business, not registered, really small.

- Which of her bank statements do I submit considering all I explained?
- Would her husband's payslips and the one landed property documents be enough?
- To articulate her monthly income, do I calculate all deposits from my dad and the rest of us for each month? It would vary from month to month.
- Is there still need to mention the pension issue since we already went with unemployed?

Thank you so much.

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 1:55pm On Feb 08, 2022
@aliyu she is not ‘unemployed’. Even housewife’s occupation = homemaker. It is a full time job. Surely there must be documents to show/confirm status as a pensioner. There is always a letter conveying this mesg .
submit all documents to show this is someone who has worked for years and is now receiving dividends from that, also same person has been happily married and can not abandon her marriage. Same person also receives goodwill and monetary cash gifts from her family because she is an awesome mother and wife with properties . She cnt abandon nigeria to go and stay in the uk because of such and such factors. Sponsors can also decide to transfer the whole monetary value of the trip to her acct and mark it as d sponsorship fund for the travel and why the sponsor is so very happy to do this. In any new application address all reasons for past refusal and make a new case. All ties to nigeria should be explored and eco must see and understand this otherwise dnt go and get refusal again.

. thanks for your input. Really appreciated. I'm a health care worker and I have seen one or two patients admitted on the ward without insurance. One young guy fainted at the airport and they brought him straight to the hospital. I don't know how they went about the bill though, but it's not something one should pray for. But something to be prepared for. That's why I prefer the travel insurance.
