Thank u
leef2022:

No it is not a must in my own experience and opinion. Also do well to be clear in stating that your trip is personal and your/the company won't be supporting any part of the trip
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by DFmum: 11:21am On Feb 09, 2022

Nnemomatina:

Sorry dear for the refusal. I applied for my mom too, although I didn't give birth, we invited her for our anniversary and also for holiday and stated she will be staying for two weeks.

What I did was:
My mom is not earning any pension because she didn't work for government, she lives in the village and hence does farm work of which most times she sells farm products. There were times when I was still going to spend holidays with her in the village, I followed to farm and you know out of memory sake, I took pictures of her farming and both of us together as well. Lol, I never really imagined that I would use those pictures one day for visa application.

So since she does not earn and no salary reflects on her account, I told eco that my mom is a petty trader and farmer who sells her farm products in the local Market and hence deals with direct exchange of cash and as such it does not reflect on her account. We explained all these on a cover letter. Even explained that her account is joint because she owned it with my dad before my dad died. The account is bearing their both names.

So we stated that we will sponsor her and we will spend 3000 pounds.. myself and my husband..1500 each.

We submitted:

Our six months statement of accounts both individual and then about three months statement of account from our joint savings.
Our Brp cards
Visa pages
Six months pay slips
The picture I took with her in the farm
Proof of address
We drafted anniversary invitation letter

We usually send her money every month, so that was really the only deposits entering her account, and of course we Also explained she receives regular allowance from her children to add to her farming business.

What I will advise is for you to take ur time and explain her circumstance on a cover letter, so that even if they have doubts or questions to ask, cover letter will carry every information.

On her cover letter, we even explained where my little niece and her aged mother (who we put on the application form that both stay with her) will be staying pending her arrival..we don't want to take chances and make dem assume no one will take of her dependents while she is away and hold on to it...we further explained she will also like to return so she will start her early Year farm harvest..

So just detail her way abouts on a cover letter

You might also want to include pictures of your scan that showed your expected date of delivery, or any proof showing ur delivery details
UK usually considers grandparents visiting their grandchildren..
Good luck

I don't know why this made me teary. My mum got a refusal too and it's been a roller coaster for all of us. God bless you and mum. Ps: I'll be taking tips from this your post too

Thank you Leef and Nneoma for your contribution.
Do I still need to add her bank statement in the application?
Also what is p60 form?

1. Yes you would have to provide mum's bank statement as well.
2. P60 indicates your yearly earnings and taxes paid etc.. that's info contained in monthly payslips correlated into a single form...

Oma6090:
Please I really need help as regards my mum's visa refusal.... I am planning to reapply by march but this time around I will be sponsoring her. I will use my UK statement of account. I hope it wouldn't cause an uproar? She can't sponsor herself again because we can't prove that the funds in her account actually belongs to her. She is just a trader, although with put business in her refused application. Is there anything I should be worried of? Also, for properties as tie back home, what document should be uploaded, receipt of land or the survey? I will attach the refusal letter again.
Also is 5thousand pounds convincing enough to apply with?
Do I need to attach all payment slips to prove the source of funds. Do I need any other documents from the UK here to support her application.
I just put to birth hence I am inviting her.

Please do not mention the newborn as her reason for visit.

That she is visiting you and her grandkids because you are longing for each other is enough reason. Else they will assume she is coming to work as a child carer

For Tourist Visa. It is advisable to use hotel booking for your application, you can always stay with anybody when you arrive. 2) The person might have issues with government (credit or child support issues) this you don't know and it will be used against you. I can help you with names of hotel if you tell me the location you are going to

Just explain all the lump sum that entered the account. You can also write a personal letter to support your application.

Sorry about your refusal, but ensure you declare and explain properly when re-applying for your student visa.

Why not reapply immediately if you have the resources and now you explain how you got the lump sum of money

Hi Guys,

The visa officer made a mistake, and also says no right of appeal or right of administrative review. It says NGN 3,405 , but that is actually a USD account, and it's supposed to be USD 3,405 not Naira. Does that mean I can't ask them to review this, and I have to submit a new application?

[img][/img]

Reapply immediately. Why not support your application with personal letter stating all your financial in a bullet point

Is there a possibility of being approved for a UK visa again if i didn't use the last visa that was issued to me? I visited the Uk in 2019, the visa expired and i reapplied for a new visa which was issued and now expires in May, but the chances of me traveling to the UK between now and May is slim. I'm wondering if that won't count against me when i reapply for a new visa

It depends on exactly your reason for travelling.

If you are going to visit family, then you will need invitation/cover letter from them. You will also not need to provide hotel proofs as they will need to show that they can accommodate you with documents.

If you are going for tourism, then you do not need any invitation whatsoever but need to prove all you can as regards accommodation and funds.

Actually I backed the received fund with receipt and the income from family stated is incorrect from my end. It's ought to be 400,000
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by AmeliaT: 10:14pm On Feb 09, 2022
Sorry about this. I wish you the best next time. What input do you need? The letter is very straight forward.
1. You don't earn enough to sponsor yourself on a trip to the UK.
2. The claimed budget for 2 weeks is too small and even at that, it is about 4 months of your annual income which makes it suspicious that one would want to fork out such.
3. You resorted to inflation before sending in the application.

Fix these three.
1. Since you are a student, declare this and explain you run a side business as you are entrepreneurial. You however still need a sponsor.
nobody random. Parents or older siblings preferably.
2. Get a proper budget for the trip. The ECO didn’t mention this but trust me, if you apply next time and state this same budget, they’ll raise it as unrealistic. Many times, they outline 2-3 primary reasons and people sometimes fix those only to see another rejection with more reasons. So, it is important that you accurately estimate the cost of the entire trip. Breakdown flight, accommodation, food, transport and a little bit for shopping and entertainment (not mandatory). Below is my personal budget guide which I came up with myself and is by no means prescriptive, but you can review, and tweak as needed. This will help guide to ensure your budget, length of trip and available balance are all in sync.
Flight- £564
Accommodation- £50/Day (unless you’re staying with a family member or friend)
Food- £20/day
Transport- £10-15/day
Optional
Shopping- Variable but I always advise one to include something as genuine tourists would usually do some shopping- souvenirs, clothes etc.
Entertainment- Variable but I always advise one to include something as genuine tourists would usually want to venture out to popular tourist sites like the London Eye, Madam Tussaud's, The Shard, going clubbing, etc.
3. Do not resort to inflation, sending through large deposits within the six-month period. Neither should your sponsor. Your sponsor needs to include their bank statement which needs to be clean as well as their pay slips to explain the source of funds or equivalent documentation if the sponsor is an entrepreneur.
4. You can increase your chances by going to other countries in the interim and returning- The UAE, Turkey, South Africa are other tourist destinations you can use to build your travel history.
5. Sort all of these out before reapplying as you do not want multiple rejections under your belt.

Cheers!

@askgod07 most movements can be done via bus and you can get day tickets in most cities for 4 to 5 pounds. This means you can travel unlimited no of times on that day via bus. The kids wont pay for transport in London. I think maybe the one above 5, might be differnet. Check transport for london website. For evry other city check the name of the city and then transport services. You will get the answer.

I’m not qualified as fully vaccinated. So I’ll be booking day 2 test, not lateral flow. And day 2 test is 59pounds

London transport is free for under - 11s. Discounted for 11 & above.

You're most welcome. I used that rate based on my personal route. I tend to use the bus/tube and Uber.

Guidelines for kids-
Children under 11 travel free on most public transport services in London when accompanied by a fare-paying adult, or with a 5-10 Zip Oyster photocard.
Children aged 11 to 15 years old can get free or discounted travel with a Zip Oyster photocard, or a Young Visitor discount.
Sixteen and 17 year olds pay half the adult rate on Tube, DLR and London Overground journeys with a 16+ Zip Oyster photocard.

Please check out tfl . gov . uk to see what the price would come to for you.

You are all doing a good job. Thank you all.

Please, I read that the COVID 19 rule changes from 4 am on February 11. So here is my question,

How do I fill out the locator form, the time(48hrs before flying or 24 hrs), and would the PCR test be delivered to my stated house address in the UK?
Also, I am thinking of doing the Covid test even though I am fully vaccinated because I don't want stories that touch from some overwork Nigeria immigration office. Should the test be done 24hrs or 48hrs before flying?
