Interesting! I'm really missing stuff
striktlymi:

Good morning Ij,

You really do need to understand Sacred scriptures. Christ taught us two lessons from that passage of Sacred scriptures. His perfect unity with the Father which is borne via his divine nature and our share in that union which he won for us via the cross.

This is the same confusion that comes when you and Boomark seem to suggest that we are Sons of God just like Christ is a Son of God. Bro Ij, this is erroneous! Christ's 'Sonship' was not won through the cross but was borne out of this Eternal union he has with the Father whereas ours is borne via the 'price' paid on the cross.

God has no equal cause there is only one God; not two or three or many Gods as you guys keep suggesting when you say that Christ is a Mighty God while the Father is the Almighty God. Frosbel 'unwittingly' brought out this passage:

Isaiah 40:25
King James Version (KJV)

25 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.

which explains perfectly that when Isaiah gave this prophecy:

Isaiah 9:6
New International Version (NIV)

6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

he was referring to the one true God who does not entertain any comparison with anyone. If Christ can be given attributes that are reserved strictly for this one true God without incurring His wrath, then it says a lot about who Christ is and the reason why this is.

It is very clear through Sacred scriptures that Christ and the Father share one essence which he alluded to by saying that He and the Father are one. Going through Sacred scriptures only strengthens my convictions about the Trinity teaching.

Sentiments like this:

are not what guide my study of Sacred scriptures.
I Mr Ubenedictus hereby endorse this message.

Eternity (or forever) is endless time. In philosophy and mathematics, an infinite duration is also called sempiternity, or everlasting. Eternity is an important concept in many religions, where the immortality of God (or the gods) is said to endure eternally. Some, such as Aristotle, would say the same about the natural cosmos in regard to both past and future eternal duration, and like the eternal Platonic Forms, immutability was considered essential.

Bro am not the one that said what was written in john.
He said his Father is our Father, his God is our God. I don't know how else you want to put it so that that person he called his Father will no longer be our Father.

Where do you want to get our own Father from if it is not the same Father? How do you want to split that same person into two Fathers? Please tell us.
hehehehe,
i'm really surprised you seriously missed the message of those words "my father and thy father, my God and thy God". By using that phase Jesus was refering to God as His father in a unique and exclusive sense.
When he speaks of the father in heaven he either say "my father or "thy father" but never "our father" (note: the "our father" is not Jesus' prayer for himself, the the prayer of his discipies cf mt6:9). If you were a good student of sacred scripture you would have noticed this.
Wouldnt it have been more convenient to say i'm going to "our father and God"? But he doesn't say that, he clearly differentiate his sonship from ours he say "my father and your father" he even differentiate d dominion over us and over him when he say " to my God and your God" instead of "our God".
He was begotten not adopted jn1:14 say "and we saw his glory, the glory as it were of the only-begotten of the father". Jn1:18 even goes futher: "the only-begotten... Who is in the bosom of the father hath decleared him"

no one is "spilting" fathers! The message is clear, even when d father is our father, his fatherhood to Jesus is a unique, exclusive paternity thus d son is called the only/sole-begotten.

no one is arguing here that our being sons of God is on the same level with that of Jesus....

the bane Here is that the same Father of Jesus is our Father and that Jesus is not that Father...i dont see how all your explanation wants to avoid that truth...

we(Jesus and all of us) all have one thing in common.....we all came from the Father...

nobody was denying that the father of Jesus is also our father, the point i'm making is that our sonship is different to that of christ so is his fatherhood.

Re: Catholic Christians, How Much Do You Know Your Faith?? by Boomark(m): 7:45am On Apr 13, 2013
striktlymi:

Now Boomark, calm down and let's reason this together...

Sacred scriptures was explicit on the existence of Christ before Abraham and indeed before the world began...

John 8:58
King James Version (KJV)
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

2 Timothy 1:9
King James Version (KJV)
9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

It takes a proper understanding of Sacred scriptures to get it all together. Your claim that Christ never existed before he was born is quite incorrect.

Prophesying that a child will be born to us who will be called all those names is just another way of telling us that some time in the future, God is going to come to the Earth and take human form just as it is written in Sacred scriptures:

John 1:14
King James Version (KJV)
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Indeed the word becoming flesh is a future event from the time of Isaiah, but this does not in any way imply that the word has not been in existence. Further reference of sacred scriptures to this fact include:

John 1
King James Version (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God.

John 17:5-6
King James Version (KJV)
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

Thank you!

This is your quote. You are acting out that thing i said that have taking over catholics...DELUSION.

From the bolded:
I then said, if(assuming) Isaiah during his time was given a prophecy which states, "THE WORD SHALL BECOME FLESH."

Like you said, this is a future event from the time of Isaiah. DOES IT MEAN THE WORD IS FLESH IN HEAVEN AT THE TIME OF THE PROPHECY? NO!

The child SHALL BE CALLED Eternal father. DOES IT MEAN THE CHILD IS CALLED ETERNAL FATHER IN HEAVEN AT THE TIME OF THE PROPHECY? NO!

This is simple english but delusion will make anyone fail it woefully.
Stop digressing. I never said Jesus did not pre-exist. Our focus is on what the child SHALL become and not what the child IS in heaven.

33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

Whose report do these Catholics believe oo!? Isaiah 53:1.
Ubenedictus, do you believe Jesus now. Or do you still stand with the error in the hearts and heads of the Jews.

Fraud!

It has eaten dip into all your fibre.

Why not promise to give me eternity and see the sort of education you have.

Did you not also see that eternity is compared to a snake swallowing its own tail on that wiki link? = infinity.

Did you not see other symbols explaining infinity? Was it so with that of the eternal page? No.

To you, Jesus that became our eternal father when he paid the ransom for Adamic sin is now our "eternal father" from infinity, were we humans their? No.

That you swallowed that lie tells alot about how rationally intelligent you are.

Why not try giving me eternity like you would eternal?
Rubbish!

Trinity rubbish!

That is how they(RCC) go out of the christian teaching and invoked tradition to cover the lies and say they are infelible.

What then will they say that tradition will not cover for them? Fraud! And lies under the guise of tradition.

What will they not do and say under the guise and umbrella of "tradition"? = fraud.

You are a good example of her product.

Ubenedictus: learn to read and understand sacred scriptures. Read again, i just changed the emphasis by bolding the important, grace was given to us in christ before the foundation of the world, emphasis on "in christ", purpose and grace was given to me directly but was given to me IN CHRIST. That means i don't need to be alive during the foundation of the world, christ has recieved it on my behalf and in the fulness of time he has confered it to me!
Peace.

Thank you.

So how about "you are a priest forever"? Is this not Eternal priesthood?

Eternal destruction of sodom nko?

How about Eternal torment? Did it start from the beginning of creation? Abi it should not have a beginning?

It is not Christ-like to reject his words and call it sentiments.
What they have succeeded in teaching you is how to reject Christ and his word.

Jesus said, his Father is our Father, jn 20:17. So believe him. It is only delusion that will make you call his words "sentiments."

If Catholics feel inferior, they can go ahead and disqualify themselves from that grace. As for me, i call Him my Abba Father.
