striktlymi: Have you ever read 1 corinthians 15:28?? New International Version (©2011) When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. ___________________________ I wonder which God Jesus would be made subject to there in the heavens........... If you do not change your view of isaiah 9:6 to fit into the rest of the scriptures then you would continue to be be in that hole you are in......... Isaiah in no way connotes Jesus being the almighty...... No Jew ever read that verse thinking the messiah was an equal with Yahweh...not until the catholics existed did that prophecy in isaiah become ambiguous........... |

frosbel: We have one God and yet you talk about a Mighty God and an Almighty God? Anyways, that one God is also referred to as the mighty one. Psalm 50:1 New King James Version (NKJV) 50 The Mighty One, God the Lord, Has spoken and called the earth. From the rising of the sun to its going down. |

frosbel: You say God is one and yet your post suggests otherwise? There is no way of reconciling your one God belief with your talk of a Mighty God on one hand and an Almighty God on the Other. If I ask my kid nephew how many that is, the answer would be a resounding TWO GODS!!! One Big God and one small God! This is not true! God is one for all time! |
Re: Catholic Christians, How Much Do You Know Your Faith?? by Boomark(m): 9:15pm On Apr 06, 2013 |
striktlymi: Good morning Boomark,Your sincerity was wanting because you dodged what i clearly wrote that One God is the Father. Those who believe in the Trinity believe that there is but one God, so there is no dispute here. Now if there is but one God who you believe is the Father, then why is it difficult to believe that Christ is God? He was given the attribute due to only the Father who I know is a 'jealous' God and will share no attribute of his with anyone unless that person has same substance as he. Give me a direct answer. We have nothing to hide that is why we have been giving you direct answers. God has only one begotten Son, Jesus. He calls Him Father. The apostles who were not begotten also call Him Father. So... Do we share the same Father with jesus? |

Boomark: I will appreciate it of you would quote where I dodged that there is one God and he is Father. Boomark: You have answered your own question! God is the Father of all humanity and that includes the humanity of Jesus. |

Re: Catholic Christians, How Much Do You Know Your Faith?? by Boomark(m): 9:57pm On Apr 06, 2013 |
striktlymi: No he was referring to his God not himself. They called him good but he rejected it and ascribed it to God. The Term God is a title not a name. No one is saying that Jesus is not a God. Zechariah 12:8 ...the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the LORD before them. Do you see that the Angel of the LORD is God? |
Re: Catholic Christians, How Much Do You Know Your Faith?? by Nobody: 10:04pm On Apr 06, 2013 |
Boomark: That seem much like scripture twisting! 'Like God' is different from 'is God'. The fact that man is made in the likeness of God does not mean that man is God. |
Re: Catholic Christians, How Much Do You Know Your Faith?? by Boomark(m): 10:05pm On Apr 06, 2013 |
striktlymi: The Angels are also MIGHTY. That does not make them Jesus or the Father. |
Re: Catholic Christians, How Much Do You Know Your Faith?? by Nobody: 10:08pm On Apr 06, 2013 |

Re: Catholic Christians, How Much Do You Know Your Faith?? by Boomark(m): 10:26pm On Apr 06, 2013 |
striktlymi: Maybe something more dangerous than bulletin made you to refuse to accept that One God according 1Cor 8:6 refers to the Father alone. If you are not using bulletin, i dare you to show us where "One God" was said to include Christ and the Holy spirit. |

striktlymi: No it has not...you guys are just blatant dodgers of truth....... The hebrew word which mighty God was coined from which is EL GIBBOR signifies mightiness.......I hope you know the hebrew word I'm talking about.......this same expression ""EL GIBBOR"" was used to refer to powerful Leaders......... Jesus being said to be called EL GIBBOR in no way means he is now the almighty God....the almighty God has a name, which ofcourse you barely use or never use so that you can constantly assume Jesus to be the same with his Father and God........ Can you please tell me the name of the one and only true God worshipped??..... |

Re: Catholic Christians, How Much Do You Know Your Faith?? by ijawkid(m): 10:39pm On Apr 06, 2013 |
striktlymi: Strikt forgot that the tetragrammaton was attached to EL GIBBOR in psalm 50:1 to show that it is infact Yahweh that this verse is referring to....... ........ Once again EL GIBBOR was attached to the tetragrammaton to connote power,mightiness..... as the scriptures would always debunk your stance the name of the almighty God was used after the use of the mighty ONE... Can you please read isaiah 9:6 once more and come back here to tell me that Jesus to be called EL GIBBOR means he is the almighty??....... Today na me and you........... You would have to explain to us if Jesus is Yahweh..... |

Strikt this is psalms 50:1.... Aramaic Bible in Plain English (©2010) The God of gods, Lord Jehovah, has spoken, and called the Earth from the risings of the sun and unto its settings. _____________________________ Young's Literal Translation A Psalm of Asaph. The God of gods -- Jehovah -- hath spoken, And He calleth to the earth From the rising of the sun unto its going in. ____________________________ Do you see your stance is shaky........??.... |
Re: Catholic Christians, How Much Do You Know Your Faith?? by Nobody: 10:43pm On Apr 06, 2013 |
Boomark: The position you guys hold is even more complicated than the Trinity. You say there is only one God! You come back to say Jesus is a Mighty God while the Father is an Almighty God which makes them two Gods by the way. You also holds that the Father is the one true God. Which would imply that the other Gods are false, including the mighty God. This makes little sense! |

ijawkid: Strikt this is psalms 50:1.... Psalm 50 New King James Version (NKJV) 1 The Mighty One, God the Lord, Has spoken and called the earth. From the rising of the sun to its going down. Psalm 50 New International Reader's Version (NIRV) Psalm 50 1 The Mighty One, God, the Lord, speaks. He calls out to the earth from the sunrise in the east Psalm 50 Amplified Bible (AMP) Psalm 50 1 The Mighty One, God, the Lord, speaks and calls the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting. Psalm 50 New International Version (NIV) 1 The Mighty One, God, the Lord, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to where it sets. |

striktlymi: I am sure Jesus was not speaking with himself when he said : John 17:3 New International Version (NIV) 3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. 2 Simple and plan things to note here 1. Jesus Christ refers to GOD as the ONLY True GOD in the Singular. 2. Jesus Christ confirmed that this ONLY True GOD sent him confirming this ONLY True GOD's superiority. Now to the subject of being called GOD. Jesus is not the ONLY True GOD but he is a 'god' , a Mighty god by virtue of his son-ship to GOD and remarkable achievement. 'god' in this case wrongly capitalized to GOD. There is only ONE True GOD, Jesus confirmed this and I accept his verdict not yours Read this and note the underlined in relation to the use of GOD in the context of Isaiah 9:6: 1 applied to men of might and rank, אֵל גוים mighty one of the nations Ezekiel 31:11 (of Nebuchadnezzar;ᵐ5 ἄρχων ἔθνων, איל some MSS. Co); אֵלִים mighty men Job 41:17 (אילים, many MSS. Di); אֵלֵי גִבּוֺרִיםmighty heroes Ezekiel 32:21 (אֵילֵי MSS. Co); אֵילֵי הָאֶרֶץ Ezekiel 17:13; 2 Kings 24:15 (Kt אולי); אֵילִיםExodus 15:15 (probably plural of III. אַיִל, q. v.) These readings are uncertain because of an effort to distinguish these forms from the divine name. אֵל גִּבּוֺר mighty hero (as above) or divine hero (as reflecting the divine majesty) Isaiah 9:6. |

striktlymi: Did you post this just because you can't show me where "one God" includes Christ and the Holyspirit. 1Cor 8:6 is not my sentiment nor emotion. The writer stated that one God is the Father. So show us where one God consists of 3 person from the sacred scripture. |
Re: Catholic Christians, How Much Do You Know Your Faith?? by ijawkid(m): 11:08pm On Apr 06, 2013 |
striktlymi: Ahhh...now we can all see strikts deception....he knowingly reduced the" ORD" attached to" L" to all small letters to wash down the fact that the tetragrammaton was used in that verse.....we all know that when the LORD is used in all capital form its means the tetragrammaton should have been used.......... now see how the NIV reads ________________________ New International Version (©2011) A psalm of Asaph. The Mighty One, God, the LORD , speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to where it sets. _________________________ Now strikt why the wayo??....... |

striktlymi: This 1 corinthians you don't want to read... ______________________________ 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 New International Version (NIV) 5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there aremany “gods” and many “lords”), 6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. _____________________________ Are the many gods mentioned in 1 corinthians false gods??....ask yourself..... |
Re: Catholic Christians, How Much Do You Know Your Faith?? by Nobody: 11:26pm On Apr 06, 2013 |
frosbel: You really do need to understand sacred scriptures. Jesus came both as God and as man. When he made some comments, it was in the capacity of his humanity and not his divinity. The fact that Jesus is God is not in doubt unless you are saying that Jesus is the one FALSE God! frosbel: I guess it has reached the time for you to write your own bible since the following are all wrong: Isaiah 9:6 New International Version (NIV) 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called. Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 King James Version (KJV) 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) 6 For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named. Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. etc..... You would go to the length of denying even what is written in Sacred scriptures to promote your agenda. frosbel: John 14:8-14 New International Version (NIV) 8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” 9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Christ has explained himself and I go with his verdict! |
