Since God is not mysterious to you, can you please tell us where he came from and what colour he is? While you are at it, please tell us which kind of sports he prefers, is it football? Volley ball? Ice hockey? etc.

We are discussing about the oneness of God and not what color he is......the bible tells us that Yahweh our God is one God and not a combo........the scriptures are so clear on this,,,,,,....it is your duty to tell us where the apostles preached or talked about God as combination of 3 persons is one....

striktlymi:

Another attempt at digression!
Nope........answer my question and use the scriptures...is the one true God triune??....since you're stuck with your interpretation of Jesus being called eternal Father......

striktlymi:

The above has been dealt with! No need going around in circles.

You guys have answered nothing but hide behind the pagan concept of trinity......how is the one who is begotten equal to the begetter...you have explained nothing my dear bro..absolutely nothing....

striktlymi:

You forgot to give us the scriptural reference for the above teaching. We need to find out for ourselves that Sacred scriptures called Christ Eternal Father because he is the new Adam. I am waiting with my bible.

I have quoted a scripture that explains it all but still u say it doesn't add.....can you please show me in the new testament where the apostles ran around Jesus calling him Father Father??.......Jesus was playing a role my bro.......that isaiah says he would be called eternal Father, not he is the eternal Father........read that isaiah well my bro.......
Oya in your words and using th scriptures tell us why Jesus is called the last adam..

striktlymi:

And you think this your explanation holds water? We are saying that Christ shares the same title with God and you are bringing an explanation that satisfies your private interpretation.

I know you've been avoiding the fact that this Christ and all of us all share the same Father.......try to read hebrews 2:11-13 and reconcile it with your rigid stance.....

Please explain to the house in clear terms why Jesus whom you literally have assumed to be the same with his Father and all of us have and share the same Father and God.........you have not explained anything close to that..rather you have been clinging to the title eternal Father even when hebrews has explained why Jesus is called so.......I repeat God gave us to Jesus as children..Jesus is like a surrogate Father.....

striktlymi:

I have explained what Paul taught. Going back to it would mean going in circles. The bold are your own words not mine.

You have explained nothing........I can only deduce from all your explanations that we can also say that we are equal with Christ.......how about that??.......1 corinthians 11:3 clearly debunks your stance.......try equating Jesus with his Father and I'll tell you you are equal with Jesus......

Its just like saying that because Jesus is called your brother then you are both equal....aint it??....

striktlymi:
I wonder where you got the bold from? Anyways, the above are what I have explained repeatedly.

You said Jesus was called the almighty..and I asked where??...

striktlymi:
...and your private interpretation of Sacred scriptures tells you that Christ was called the Eternal Father because he is the last Adam? Eternal means something that exists without beginning or end. The assumption of Christ as the new Adam has a beginning and it obviously does not fit into the profile of an Eternal father. Go research what it means to be Eternal.
And I asked you if adam had not sinned won't he be our eternal Father??........

Why do you think isaiah says the messiah would be called eternal Father and not the messiah is the eternal Father??.....

I have asked you to tell the house why Christ would tell us, his disciples who already knew isaiahs prophecy concerning the Christ not to call anyone(including Christ) Father, but the Father in heaven??....why didn't Christ say call one Father but me??....why??....you have given no explanation to that..I've been consistent with scriptures while you have stuck to isaiah 9:6 like say tomorrow no dey........open another place from the scriptures where we are reminded or informed that Christ is the eternal Father....

striktlymi:
Now let's think through this one...

Question: Is Jesus Holy?
Answer: Yes

Question: Is Jesus the Eternal Father?
Answer: Yes

Question: If Jesus is the Eternal Father, can he be said to be a Father?
Answer: Yes.

Question: If Jesus is Holy and he is a Father, can he be said to be a Holy Father?
Answer: Yes

Hebrews shows you why Jesus was to be called a Father...Jesus isn't the eternal Father but was to be called and is called eternal Father in that God gave us to Christ...hebrews 2:11-13 explains it all.....angry...

Once again my question is why is the pope called HOLY father??..why??

striktlymi:
It is either Christ was drunk or you do not understand Sacred scriptures. I go with the latter!
Hehehe....naaa....tell me why Jesus would tell us not to call anyone but Yahweh Father and not direct the title Father to himself??......tell us....I want to help you see that your understanding of Jesus to be called ""eternal Father"" is totally contorted...

striktlymi:
Are you having a hard time understanding KJV?? May be this one would help:

Philippians 2:5-11
New International Version (NIV)

5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus 6 Who, being in very nature[a] God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature[b] of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!

These translations have contradicted Jesus....Jesus not thinking it robbery to be equal with God means Christ thought it good and appropraite to be equal with God meanwhile the rest of the verse is saying Christ never allowed such thing get into his thoughts...the last time I checked the person who didn't think it robbery to be equal with God was satan and not the christ.....cheesy...

Moreover can it be said too that the Father would think it not robbery to be equal with his son??....

Translation problems have basterdized that verse...

striktlymi:
Don't tell me you are trying to shroud the TRUTH behind the 'cloak' of context.

Are arguing that we and Jesus don't share the same Father??.......

Please read john 20:17...take a look at Jesus' words after his ressurection..

New International Version
(©2011)
Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me,
for I have not yet ascended to the
Father. Go instead to my brothers
and tell them, 'I am ascending to
my Father and your Father , to my
God and your God.'"

_________________________
Why would one whom you claim to be the eternal Father(if not applied contextually) make the above statement??....why are we all from the same Father??....why is Jesus sharing the same Father with us??.....why?? Why?? Why??

striktlymi:
Now we have different fathers? Thank God I can now call my priests reverend Fathers without you breathing down my neck.

Jesus says call no one Father...follow his words....stop calling the pope holy Father.....

striktlymi:
This is definitely a trick question! Jesus is the only begotten Son of the Father.
Why are you running away na from the question....open hebrews 2:11,12 and also john 20:17 and answer the damn question.......

Why should Jesus be begotten from a Father??....isn't he suppose to be the Father??...

striktlymi:

The verse actually does not explain much. What I saw was you given your own interpretation to that verse.
Naaa........it is the trinity veil that has blocked your vision so much that you can't let go.....earlier on you were asking questions that you knew the trinity dogma could not explain....I have used scriptures to follow up my points....while you have stuck with isaiah 9:6....all I need is anothe scripture where Jesus is called eternal Father again.....

striktlymi:

Not exactly an invention but a teaching from the Catholic Church. This was what the Apostles did: they went about teaching through the inspiration of the Spirit. The Catholic Church for now is the only one that follows this example of the Apostles.

The apostles never believed in the hogwash called trinity......they believed Yahweh to be one Yahweh....

striktlymi:

I will advice that you research on Paul's stance on the matter above. Eaten foods sacrificed to idols does not defile a man. The only consideration would be for those who are weak. Research and may be we can discuss further when you are up to speed.
What about bowing down before dead meat na??......hehehehe.....

striktlymi:

The above would border on speculations. Do you have any record of the above?
Are you implying paul must have done that too??.....store and mummify human parts and worship them??.......keep dreaming.......paul was not an idolater ...period!!!!......paul never used images and mouldings in his worship, neither did he employ the use of beads and the belief of marys intercessory powers......the holy spirit does not inspire that thrash........

Good morning Ij,

The post above is a summary of what inspires your teachings against the Trinity: emotions, sentiments, private interpretations of Sacred scriptures and being stuck to an idea that you have been made to believe.

Anyways, like I mentioned before, my goal is not to make you see that the Trinity teaching is correct. I have read your arguments on the matter and have determined that your stance does not explain what is in sacred scriptures.

Repetitive arguments that lead nowhere are kinda boring and really that is not my thing...the best that can happen is say so many words at the expense of meaning.

Thanks for the conversation.

#Look on the bright side, whenever you say the Trinity teaching has been debunked, I now know where your argument stems from smiley

So is your reason for creating this thread satisfied??.........your stance on the support of the trinity does not and will not stand the test of time.......I would have brought out more scriptures for you and asked more questions to expose the 3nity but it would end up in the dustbin because you have been cemented to the triology........

I took my time to ask you who the one true God is and if the begotten is the same or equal to the begetter, you decided to completely dodge the question and clung to isaiah 9:6 and what ever UBE has to say......its up to you to choose who your God is........its up to you to choose who your mediator between God and man is,,,,,.........its up to you to continue wallowing in the pagan trinity dogma.......

Its up to you to keep carving images and venerating what ever object that comes your way....the RCC has always been wrong on this subject and would forever be.........

Ubenedictus: does that make the son a fake God?

No.

This is like asking Jesus if he is bad when he said no one is good except the Father. Jesus came to take you all back to God and this is how he was doing it.

The divine nature(Godhead) belongs to God and it pleases Him to give its fullness to our lord the Christ. The Father also gives HIS spirit. All things are made in His likeness, both those that are called Gods.

Christ is His express image not the image of the spirit. We are His image not the image of angels. Angels are his image and likeless. ALL belongs and comes from HIM.

This is why Jesus said, the Father is the only true God. Do you still disagree?

Jesus' statement only goes a long way to help you see that he isn't part of a trinity or the same as his Father or equal with him......

Jesus clearly showe d trinitarians that there logic is wrong.......

While Jesus and the rest of us can be good, the Father is the only one who is all-GOOD......got it??......

Let me add.

All Goodness springs from the Father. If you are good today, you got it from the Father. He is GOOD the same way He is LOVE.

I am used to 'big English'! It does not scare me!

I don't see the contradiction in what you said above. The first said there is one God. The second said there is one God. The first is silent on the number of persons in that one God while the second goes further to reveal that there are three persons in that one God. Where is the contradiction?

We should all be searching for the truth but it seems to me that you have concluded already that one side is telling lies when you have not brought out the lies. If you have concluded, how come you are still searching for the truth?

Am beginning to doubt your sincerity.

1Cor 8:6

Did you not understand the english?

Ijawkid quoted this:

Read hebrews 2:11-13
New Living Translation (©2007)
11..So now Jesus and the ones he
makes holy have the same Father.

That is why Jesus is not ashamed
to call them his brothers and
sisters.
12..For he said to God, "I will
proclaim
your name to my brothers and
sisters. I will praise you among
your assembled people."
13..He also said, "I will put my trust
in him," that is, "I and the children
God has given me."

and asked you "do you believe that we and Jesus share the same Father"? Your reply is "this is a tricky question. Jesus is the begotten son of God."

Do you not understand the English in v11? Or has the spirit of delusion already taken over?

Who gave Christ his children? If these are his eternal children(those who will inherit eternal life), is the prophesy not in tune with him being eternal father?

Good morning Boomark,

Boomark:

Am beginning to doubt your sincerity.

You doubt my sincerity because I pointed out that there is no contradiction in the statement you made? I wonder how that translates to one being insincere. You accuse those who believe in the Trinity of lies but you have failed to demonstrated this with facts from Sacred scriptures.

Boomark:
1Cor 8:6
But to us there is but one God, the Father. Of whom are all things,...

Those who believe in the Trinity believe that there is but one God, so there is no dispute here. Now if there is but one God who you believe is the Father, then why is it difficult to believe that Christ is God? He was given the attribute due to only the Father who I know is a 'jealous' God and will share no attribute of his with anyone unless that person has same substance as he.

Boomark:

Empty!!!

I have viewed the argument from Ij's looking glass and it still does not explain the provisions of Sacred scriptures satisfactorily. Refer, to my dialogue with Ij for my responses as regards the above.

Boomark:
and asked you "do you believe that we and Jesus share the same Father"? Your reply is "this is a tricky question. Jesus is the begotten son of God."

Oh you do not see the trick in the question? I guess not everyone has the same level of insight. Similar to some of the questions the Pharisees asked Jesus. Anyways, if you need an answer (which corroborates the one I have given) then see the Gospel of John:

John 3:16
King James Version (KJV)

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

If the above does not answer your question, then I will give you a direct answer as soon as you tell us whether the God the Father has more than one begotten son.

Boomark:
Do you not understand the English in v11?

Actually I don't understand English. I make use of google translator grin

Boomark: Or has the spirit of delusion already taken over?

I guess you are learning fast from Logicboy and ooman.

Since you are the professor in English, can you tell us what eternal means?

I had been reading but this got me wandering your explanations and meaning of the word " Eternal" father. sad

...and your private interpretation of Sacred scriptures tells you that Christ was called the Eternal Father because he is the last Adam? Eternal means something that exists without beginning or end. Ah! The above is incorrect > "Eternal".

Eternal = without ceasing, without an end, lasting forever, not changing.

eternal is futuristic.
Eg. Human will be given eternal life(does not mean that we had existed indefinitely in the past without beginning) means that hence, there will be no ending to such human life).

Please, teach the truth and not fraud.

#Look on the bright side, whenever you say the Trinity teaching has been debunked, I now know where your argument stems from smiley

how can you have wrong definitions and wish to belief that you are on the right? > "Eternal".

What are you trying to say? That Jesus is not The Eternal Father? Who was Isaiah talking about then?

"Eternal" has nothing to do with indefinit past or "without beginning".

Yes Jesus is eternal father with a beginning of the father hood, but without ending.

Can you try using a dictionary please, to confirm the word "eternal".
Thanks you.

And that Jesus has a Father over him...can you and your ilks get that into your thick skulls??.......

isaiah says he would be called...........if he has always been our Father there would be no need for that futuristic statement..........

My problem is you guys have boldly avoided hebrews 2:12-13........

Keep decieving yourselves.....

truthislight: I had been reading but this got me wandering your explanations and meaning of the word " Eternal" father. sad

Please, teach the truth and not fraud.

of what value are those ^ questions?

Are you playing games?

Does the bible cover such info?

How does those questions explain your trinity?

Smh for you. :

Good evening truthislight,

It is best that you keep your sentiments when we are discussing the word of God. If you are confused about the definition I gave for eternal, why not ask?

It is very un-Christlike to accuse first and think later!

But Boomark, Christ is God as prophesied by Isaiah! Can't it be said that he was referring to his divine nature also?

Good teacher, who then is the "Eternal Father" that Isaiah talked about in Isaiah 9:6? Is it "The Father" or "The Son"?

The prophecy is for the Son.

As at the time of the prophecy, the Father IS Father, the Son WOULD BE CALLED Eternal father.

Nah Bro Frosbel, the question rather should be whether you guys understand sacred scriptures. When Christ says only God is good, he wasn't saying that he is not good nor was he saying that he is not God.

If only God is good and Christ made it clear in the gospel of John that the following is true about him:

John 10
New International Version (NIV)

11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

it implies that he claims only what can be attributed to God again.
