Ijawkid quoted rev 1:5-6 not rev 3, and i rightly answered him.
Boomark:

Revelation 3:12
King James Version (KJV)
12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

So whose words are these and where was he made the statement?
and as i said your questions are answered when you research on the hypostatic union.

Its not good when i alone do the work. Do well to read up on the hypostatic union and tell us if it answers you question.
Peace

revelation 3:12..
the one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name.

......-......

what do u have to say about the above?...
above, u'll see what i said.

still johns words abi?...
your contorted view of God wont stand the test of truths....
HOw you intend to twist the expressions "my GOD " and my Father defies all logic...angry
i warned earlier about derogatory remarks, d thread hasn't started yet and you are already accusing me of twisting, my explanation is there for all to see and i'm ready to hear how it defies logic. If you can't discuss without accusing me of something then graciously bow out of the discussion.
Thanks.

what about revelation 1:5-6 where Jesus still calls the almighty "MY GOD" in heaven.....??...

ABI u forget?...

your explanation up there is never supported by the scriptures...only pagan traditions can explain it....cheesy

Boomark:

That Jesus is equal and one God with the Father yet the Father is his God, are they not two confusing stories. Unless being a God to someone has no meaning? That is why you should stick with the mystery as it is.

You said God is a NATURE. Do you mean "UNKNOWN NATURE"? I believe this qualifies the mystery in trinity. Because we can't know/understand what we don't know.
bookmark, this is your assumption.

Good evening please,

I have been going through the various contributions (both those said out of sincerity and those that were borne out of sentiments) and really I am struggling to understand why it's so difficult to accept the teachings of the Trinity. I believe the fact that Jesus is God is glaring in sacred scriptures.

Anyways, I do understand why some won't see this truth considering that each individual has his/her looking glass, from which he/she sees and determine what is true to him/her.
Re: Catholic Christians, How Much Do You Know Your Faith?? by Boomark(m): 6:37pm On Apr 04, 2013
Ubenedictus: now please tell me, how one can be truly God and yet be significantly less?

The Father Is The Only True God.

Jesus told us so in John 17:3. Do you disagree with Christ?

I don't trust in man made hypostatic union when i have it clearly written. If you want to use it, get it here and we will show you how true or faulty it is.

We all have one God, 1Cor 8:5-6. That is why Christ called the Father his God.

We must be careful not to try to understand fully The Most Holy Trinity. That's why it is called a mystery. It cannot be fully understood by we humans.

Make do with what has been revealed and taught.

Thank you.

Good morning Ij,

You sometimes allude to the fact that people tend to deviate from following the foot steps of Christ; do you honestly believe that Christ would go about picking quarrels in a bid to drive home a point?

Mystery of Rosary
Mystery of Trinity
Mystery of Eucharist

Everything with these people is a mystery, no wonder they walk in darkness, but I believe many of them will be saved and turned from worshiping idols to worshiping GOD.

Good morning Frosbel,

Is the above meant to assume that there is no mystery in the Christian faith? If this is so, I will be glad if you would reveal to me everything there is to know about God and the angels. Let the following guide your thoughts:

1) Where did God come from?
2) Why does God live forever?
3) Who gave God his powers?
4) If his powers existed as he did, how come he can't lose his powers?
5) When did God create the angels?
6) Are angels all male or female or a mix?

When you are done unraveling the above mysteries I have some further questions for you.

Thank you!

Simply because they hate the Catholic Church, they pretend as if they themselves dont believe in things they dont understand fully. Hypocrites!

Let he who can FULLY understand God cast the first stone and explain him fully to us!

But now that we are asking them to explain everything about God to us, since they say only Catholics believe in mysteries...

...story don dey change to..."I'm just trying to jolt my men UBE and italo........we know how we dey do ourselves.........."

Those who believe in the Trinity also holds that there is only one God, not three Gods. And when we talk about God we have no choice but be confused and that is why there is faith. When logic and reason fails, there faith comes in.

interestingly you haven't been able to prove any inconsistency. I put it to everyone on the thread, there is no untruth in the teaching of one God in 3 persons and there is nothing unscriptural there.
