Absolutely right. We all have different goals in this dear life....what is cheap for person A may be expensive for person B. For instance, I know a fresh from medical school babe that started work with 250k here whereas my family doc earns close to 500k, I thought that's a lot. But OP still thinks doctors dont earn much. This just makes me see relativity of things further. The best thing I've done for myself is leaving naija....2022 was a loaded year for me simply because of that and I'm so grateful. Surely, I look forward to more....

1. Access to better healthcare
2. Lower crime rate (this is why I prefer countries like Canada and Netherlands)

If it’s a couple with no kids in their early 30’s. The two of them can make a balance sheet of income and expenses. They can have 2 jobs ( if both make 70k each a year. ) In 5 years you should have saved enough to put a down payment on a house. You rent out the house and continue to rent another abode. In another 5 years, you can remortgage the house , take out funds and buy another property where you can now start a family.
It’s all about priorities and where your heart is . If you consider Naija your home , then you may be forced to send money home to build a property instead of focussing on where you are.

Another thought is if you play your cards well your kids growing up with other kids make connections that could set them up to go into business or whatnot to help them create generational wealth.

For those of you leaving in late 30’s and 40’s you need to have the mindset that your children will have a better future and access to resources than I did. They will buy you cars and houses etc.

If pounds was 100 Naira to a Pound, Nigerians will hardly travel any where. People complain about jobs in Nigeria but when they travel to UK, all they do is Care Jobs, that's the only job available for most people.

Maybe medication & healthcare systems are good in Canada, but not in the Uk, my big bro complains of even getting emergency help, you cannot call NHS unless you are at the point of death. That's the only time help can come to you, the NHS is highly under staffed. Sometimes I have had to ship drugs to my bro from the US. NHS nurses starting salary is 27k in the UK & Nurses are leaving for Australia in droves, IN DROVES!

you come across like one of these nigerians who like to talk big. your story is not adding up. out of medical school then you go for a 4 year residency program where you earn like 40 thousand a year. 4 year medical school, 4 year residency and about 3 years to specialise before you start earning 250 k
